The PMX manual says of the multibar rest 'rm': it may be used in a multi-line score, provided it is entered for the same number of bars in every staff.
When this injunction is disobeyed, the error message is however not something helpful, like Expected a multibar rest when the first staff has it and another one does not, or Unxepected multibar rest when the first staff did not have it but another one does. Instead, it is something like "Block duration not divisible by lenbar" when there is in fact nothing wrong with the block duration.
