Last Saturday 17 cavers visited Spring Creek Cave, Kendall Co., not far
north of Boerne. The thorough exploration and survey of this, currently the
12th longest cave in Texas, is a project of the DFW Grotto. The cavers who
enjoyed this water cave, which requires swimming, were from the DFW Grotto,
UTG, Bexar Grotto, and ASS. Some of the ASS cavers took their vertical gear
with them and climbed up rope rigged in the Shower Stall, which is becoming
calcite encrusted, and went upstream to the low airspaces.

Steve Webb (DFW), Rusty Jones (from San Antonio) and I explored 301 feet
of virgin cave passage in an upstream tributary. The cave is now 14,248 feet
(4,342m) long, which is 2.7 miles, and remains the 12th longest cave in
Texas.

Cavers who were there:

DFW Grotto - Diana Tomchick, Steve Webb, Jake McLeod, Jacqueline Hawk, Bill
 Steele

UTG - Vivian Loftin, Jennifer Thompson, Guin McDaid, Andy Edwards

Bexar Grotto - Rusty Jones, Aaron Wertheim, Vickie De Leon

ASS - Daniel Rossi, Omid Kazemi, Bryce Hamilton, Gabby Obkirchner, Damien
Lerbrun-Grandie

Thanks go out to Cave Without a Name for their continued hospitality in
letting us camp there.
