Our local newscasts start every day with "This is (whatever number) day of the government shutdown." Reminds me (remember, I'm a really old person) of the News during the Iran Hostage period: "This is day 132 of the Iran hostage crisis." Instead of calling this a shutdown or furlough, they should call it the American public hostage crisis.
