Even the Petzl Basic ascender (my favorite, http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/multi-purpose-ascenders-0/basic) has an "up" arrow on it.
This ClimbTech ascender appears to have been designed with rock climbers in mind. No idea how well it would hold up to muddy, gritty caving conditions.
