Hi all,
As some of you already know the FS has implemented Stage II fire restrictions
effective Thursday morning April 7th. There is a very strong possibility that
they will go to Stage IV in a couple of weeks or go to full closure of the
forest. Stage IV basically would restrict travel to improved roads or main
travel avenues such as Rte 540 and FS 67. No two track travel would be
permited. No type of open flame would be permitted. They had a full closure
about three years ago and my source tells me it is being considered again due
to the extremely dry conditions and the amount of fuel available. They had a
small fire last week that was started by a vehicle exhaust.
I will keep you informed as I find out more.
