MartianImpact Crater

Thisenhanced-color image from March 2012 of a region of Mars near Nili Fossae 
showspart of the ejecta from an impact crater and contains some of the 
bestexposures of ancient bedrock on Mars. The impact broke up already diverse 
rockstypes and mixed them together to create this wild jumble of colors, 
eachrepresenting a different type of rock. This image was taken by the 
MarsReconnaissance Orbiter's HiRISE camera. Image Credit:
