Comments on the proposed cave closure can be made to threatened and endangered species program leader Kristi Swisher at (406) 329-3558 or by email to [email protected]. In my early conversations with Kristi she has advocated complete closure of all FS caves, i.e. - the Colorado model. She has been opposed to recreational caving even in caves that don't have bats. But in recent conversations she has come to realize that cavers could be a great help in documenting bat usage in caves. http://missoulian.com/news/opinion/editorial/article_344c8606-6cf4-11e0-be9c -001cc4c03286.html Please forward this email to any cavers that may want to comment on the closures.
