This conversation is starting to remind me of the 90s when I first told my parents that I wanted to order a book online and they thought I was crazy.

Book stores have books." I watch the TexasCaver email list, obviously, but using e-mail as a discussion forum for hundreds of people is not terribly elegant. Other than mine us for our precious bodily fluids, er... I mean private information, free-form discussions amongst groups of people is what sites like Facebook do best.
