I would take the place in a minute, but I wonder how often the river is in high
flow like that... Certainly not all the time.

This attractive property is apparently about twenty miles west of Deep/Punkin
and appears to be on the east bank of The Devil's River.
At $2,947. per acre, it isn't cheap and is somewhat remote for the majority of
cavers. This is also rocky desert country with limited tree cover. A better buy
may be less acreage, say no more than 50, but more centrally located. Keep
looking for as Gill said, there are probably dozens of places that meet the
criteria.

Not me. I know the area fairly well as my buddy has had an 8,000 acre deer
lease at the juncture of 277 and 377 that I put him onto 30 years ago. We all
enjoy being there but it is definitely too remote.

What have you all got against the West? What is this not too far West

That's as maybe, but it seems to violate the "not too far west" requirement.

But it is okay for us poor saps that live out in the western half here to have
to have the time and expense to get there? Sounds a little m,essed up to me...
But...
With Texas being a big state presents its problems with logistics, I understand
that and usually it is some place in the middle but every once in a great while
it would be nice to a bit closer for us.... Not many of us go and maybe that is
why? I don't know... Not many caves close by either so we have to travel...
