The French Speleological Federation is hosting an international cave rescue training seminar from 6-14 November 2010 in the spectacular Savoie Mountains of the French Alps. The seminar will be conducted in three languages: French, English, Spanish. Their last seminar included people from 37 countries and was very successful, not only for training but also for the international exchange of ideas and information.
The price is high for many U.S. pocketbooks, 1,040 Euros ($1,530 at the current exchange rate) but it includes food and lodging as well as the training, materials, and access to some fantastic caves. The price may be negotiable depending on the number of people who sign up. The French Sports Ministry is sponsoring the event and will offer some financial aid for people from: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Morocco, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia, and Ukraine.
