This month's issue of the "NSS News" reports a convtroversy over some caver miscommunication at "JackPot Cave."
One of the minor character's in the event, is named Alan Glennon. I only skimmed the article. I presume this is the same Alan Glennon that was president of the A.S.S. in 1993. If so, He has roots here in the Texas caving area. His older brother Ashley was very important in the operation of the A.S.S. in 1983 and 1984. His father was an old-timer in the DFW grotto, I believe. I have sort of been caving with them all once. But did go caving with Ashley back in the mid 80's. I mentioned a few years ago, that I give Alan credit for introducing me to the concept of e-mail, thus allowing me to post a lot of stuff on CaveTex. Alan is the first caver I know of to send out an electronic caving newsletter, which was the A.S.S. Explorer in 1993, however, I am sure someone else was doing it long before that. If I have the wrong Alan, then please disregard this post. David Locklear
