If any establishment was closed for one day of the week, as many are, consumers would allow for this and plan for it. It could cause an inconvenience on road trips.

That is the way I remember the early 70's gas crisis. Back then, I could have never imagined a RaceTrack Gas Station with 24 pumps, nor one where you could use a touchpad to order a deli lunch while you were filling up. Has anybody seen th price of full-service gas? If there is such a thing as full-service gas, I doubt it is anything like what it was back in the 60's.
