Caving vs. Superbowl It is my opinion that one of the characteristics that separate a caver from the average person on the streets, is that a majority of cavers would rather go caving with their friends during the Superbowl.
I am guessing something like 80 percent of cavers would rather be deep underground, and miss the game all together. However, I once met a real caver that was obsessed with Hockey. My personal opinion is that many people in the world are so obsessed with spectator sports that they have lost touch with reality. Just look at how much our local TV newscast devotes to giving us fine details of sports news. Who cares that Tiger Woods changed brands of shoes today? There are much more important things going on in the world. That being said, if there were a cave near where I lived and a group of my caving friends decided to watch the Superbowl in the cave, then there is a pretty good chance I would be there.
