This post is for anyone who has realized they are addicted to soft drinks, like Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper.
I am on Day 5 now of going cold-turkey on carbonated beverages. It is harder than it sounds. I have been guzzling hot tea - mostly de-caffeinated green tea. I have increased my intake of juice and trying hard to avoid juices with high fructose corn syrup and preservatives. However, I certainly don't feel any better. Irritable is more like it. Or I feel run down like I have the flu. Has any body tried breaking their addictions with sub-liminal messages: http://www.amazon.com/Addiction-Neurolinguistic-Programming-imbedded-soothing/dp/B000MSISWW/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1201620288&sr=8-24 One of the things I like about caving in the Sierra Madres, is after the cave, we would find a nearby "refresceria," and sit down and relax with a Mexican flavored Coca-Cola, and admire the scenery of the karstic mountainside. So, I will never be able to give up sodas for good. Has anybody out there kicked such an addiction?
