Yesterday I posted a note about the top ten deepest caves in the world based on information from Bob Gulden's web site <http://www.caverbob.com/wdeep.htm>.

>Bob also lists Jamski sustav Velebita (Croatia) as no. 2 at 1926 m deep, with a date of December 2007.

After I tried to come up with more information about his no. 2 cave I became suspicious that this number contained a typo.  It does.  The proper depth of Jamski sustav Velebita was actually supposed to be 1026 m (confirmed by email from Bob).  I've also seen several sources that give it as 1034 m.  In any event, it is no where near the top of the list.  I was surprised about that entry because I had not even heard of that cave before.  It only broke 1000 m deep late last year, and then only barely, which was why I hadn't seen it.
