I would assume that when "counting" the bats in Frio Cave they made the
count in August or September and not in May or June or at least an
average. 
I don't remember the time frame for the counting process. I will
probably be at Frio Cave this weekend to show it to some friends
although I preferred the early days when you didn't have to pay to see
it.

Hmmm. Is the 100 million bats figure in that press release that Atkinson
sent us before or after the researchers think they determined that there

a lot fewer bats in caves such as Frio than had been thought for
decades?
    Also, how much per acre is 1.7 million dollars? Helps to keep these
things in perspective....
