This is why the Stenlight designers didn't put 5 watt bulbs in the S7. Also, I think the current rational is that the 3 watt LED is more practical than having a big array of small LED's. Bill also wrote that he had good luck with his Wheatlamp. I loved my Wheatlamp too, but I don't think it could ever compare to the current top-of-the-line LED headlamps. Also, I can't see any reason to cave with carbide now, unless your old lamp is still working great and you still have a lot of carbide laying around. Also, with all the tiny LED flashlights on the market, it doesn't seem to make any sense to carry chemical light sticks in your cave pack. I bought a LED light stick last year and have used it as a tent light and for use in the car. It has never failed and the batteries are still going strong. http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/garrity_fun-tastick.htm David Locklear _______________________________________________ Texascavers mailing list [email protected] http://texascavers.com/mailman/listinfo/texascavers_texascavers.com
