We left Huntsville on Saturday about noon. I had checked the weather maps on my phone, so I wasn't real concerned about the storm itself, but I was a little worries about the potential evacuation traffic. I called a friend in New Orleans and another who is an engineer for Entergy (who was in touch with all the crews heading down to repair damage). Both said that the traffic wasn't bad in Louisiana. We decided that the smart thing to do was just keep going west on I-20 to Jackson then kick down to I-10 and head home from there.
It was an easy drive - no hold-ups at all. A lot better than the trip out when we got stuck behond an 18-wheeler wreck for about 5 hours.
