In the news today, a mountain-climber is reporting that an earthquake has removed the Hillary Step from Mount Everest. A photo he posted shows about a 20 foot piece of rock missing, and the area covered in snow, making it just a hop over some very slippery boulders.
I guess one could assume that the piece of rock tumbled down the mountain. I do not see any reports of when the climbers think that that might have happened. Has anyone ever noticed a major cave feature destroyed by an earthquake ? Here is Houston, we had a major natural landmark destroyed by Hurricane Ike.
