“King of the El Abra” Don Broussard was an important surface support person in 
Huautla this year. His duties included inventory control, mixing underground 
camping food, monitoring what team members were where and when were they due to 
return, and more. 

Don first went to Huautla in 1969, years earlier than anyone else on the 
expedition.
