Still in hospital, but supposed to be medically released tomorrow. Was to go to
rehab, but with new COVID rules for facilities, he would have to be quarantined
in a room by himself for 14 days upon arrival. With stroke confusion still
present, and tendency to get up and walk or wander - many times looking for me
- no one would take him. He would also be locked down without me again!! So,
supposed to come home. Doctor working to get us all rehab help he can at home,
plus home health care to come in for vitals check. Please keep us in your
prayers. I was really not prepared for this, but seems like no choice if they
will not take him. Our McLennan County cases on rise again with area opening
up, so could be he is supposed to come home.

BTW, Jim talks, walks as best he can - sort of like a shuffle - with help,
passes all the evaluation tests by nurses every four hours. Sits in his chair,
albeit with a restraining strap to keep him from getting up! (Nurse said
tonight he had figured out how to release the strap though! Lol Those poor
caregivers! He has it on in bed too!) Eats and drinks with help - although I
bet if he liked the food he would do better! If the confusion from the event
would get better, he would be so good compared to two weeks ago. Of course, the
guy has been retired for almost ten years now, so he could care less what day
it is even before this event. Sometimes messes his birthdate up, thinks Bush is
still Pres, but knows me, our child, grandchild etc, and so many other normal
things. Like who Einstein is, and what his big deal was. My science guy 😊
Simply very emotional and down and feels he will never get better, not fair to
me, and honestly still thinks he will die. I think once he returns to his
natural home environment that all that will get better. Hoping anyway. I
believe they will restart one of his blood thinners upon release - Plavix to
keep platelets from clumping around Watchman device. But that is for tomorrow.

For me, my wonderful boss, even though just part time, had HR look to see if I
would qualify for FMLA. Because Jim has to self quarantine, but needs me to
care for him, I do! Doc will prepare paperwork for me, so huge financial help
there. Will use time as needed.

Enough! Be well, stay safe, and cave or hike as you can. Will keep you posted.
