PostScript 3 allows to embed tif in a compressed form. The debian package libtiff-tools contains a program tiff2ps, which exploits this possibility. (options -e -3 -y) Furthermore, be aware that the current way of conversion, using pnmtops (which should certainly be continued to be used as fallback) handles the image-size and DPI information incorrectly. Ideally, the conversion should respect the DPI information from the original picture. I have not managed yet, though, to write a script that does this reliably. Also be aware, that changing the bitmap conversion may render existing documents broken, if they rely on some picture size, based on the current (incorrect and unpredictable) conversion. _______________________________________________ Texmacs-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/texmacs-dev
