Hi James- This works for me in 1.9.0, and I assume it would work in 1.8.x: if RUBY_VERSION !~ /1.9/ $KCODE = 'u' require 'jcode' end (I'll get the "old" ;-) Ruby 1.8.6 working with TextMate soon so I can check these myself.)
