Try: my $query = <<'SQL'; SELECT * FROM FOO WHERE xyz = 2 SQL The "SQL" keyword there triggers the syntax highlighting of the string. Also supported: HTML, XML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and (oddly enough) POSTSCRIPT. > Thank you very much.
