If you have a multi entry visa and visa valid for more than 6 months (normally US issues visa for validity for about 10 years). They issue on arrival a form on which ur validity for that visit is entered which is 180 days ie six months. You have to leave the country before that. However you can re-enter the country technically next day. Fly out to Canada (if u have visa) or UK or Europe (If u have visa) the form is collected by airline or ship when u are leaving the US. Fresh form is issued on re-arrival. In case the visa issued is for six month period then you have to leave the country before expiry of visa even if it is multi entry visa. for example if visa is valid till 31 July then you have to leave the country on or before 31 July.
The validity date is given on visa form stapled on your Passport.
