Thanks, Parashu. That made for insightful reading on India's Prime Minister in waiting. The question in my mind is not whether NaMo and his Janata Party will get elected in the current Lok Sabha elections. All that I saw in India when I was there for four months this past winter and what I am hearing and reading since then point to Indians pining for deliverance from the present corrupt and inefficient Manmohan Singh Government led by the Congress Party and Sonia Gandhi and her clan's stranglehold on that honored national party and the decayed body politic of India. So, for this time, the change will come for sure as that is what people desire in the form of a NaMo led Janata Party Administration. However, for their dreams of a New India to be realized the Administration will have get an opportunity to govern for a period of time and different political parties and Indians working together towards that goal. Patience is the key here. I would dare say, a minimum of two (five year ) terms to have the needed jolt and impact on India's several deep-rooted problems.....poverty, shortages - of water, electricity, and of staples of food consumed by the hundreds of millions in India, divisions, both political, religious and castes, inefficient bureaucracy, bribery and corruption.. Perhaps, NaMo will be able to tackle either some of the above or all the above to some extent. If that happens, that will be generally good for India and the 1200 million Indians living there and expatriates like me who would like to call India their temporary home. After two generations as a free Nation, it is about time, India got it right this time. If Indians missed the current opportunity and hold on to to the gains therefrom for a good period of time, India will continue to be a mediocre Nation of people with unrealized potential in the foreseeable future. Let us hope India wakes up from deep slumber and get it right this time around.
