Thirukachi Nambigal
*அவன் உரைக்கப் பெற்றேனோ திருக்கச்சியார் போலே*
சென்னை அருகிலுள்ள பூவிருந்தவல்லியில், 1009 ஆம் ஆண்டு வீரராகவர்,கமலாயர்
தம்பதிகளுக்கு நான்காவதாகப் பிறந்த திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள் அவர்களின்
இயற்பெயர் கஜேந்திர
தாசர். வணிகம் செய்யும் குலத்தில் பிறந்தவர், அவரது சகோதரர்கள் மூவரும்
பொருளீட்டுவதில் விருப்பத்துடன் இருப்பினும், கஜேந்திரதாசர் காஞ்சியில்
உறையும் வரதராஜப் பெருமாளுக்கு திருவாலவட்ட கைங்கரியம் செய்வதிலேயே தன்
வாழ்வினை கழித்தார். தன் தந்தை கொடுத்த செல்வத்தினைப் பெருமாளுக்குச் சேவை
செய்வதில் உபயோகித்ததால் தந்தை கோபம் கொள்ள, வீட்டைத் துறந்த திருக்கச்சி
நம்பிகள்,
காஞ்சி சென்று பெருமாளுக்குத் திருவாலவட்டம் வீசும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்து வந்தார்.
தினமும் காஞ்சிக்குச் சென்று கைங்கர்யம் செய்து வந்த நம்பிகள், முதுமையினால்
காஞ்சி செல்ல முடியாது வருந்தியபொழுது, பெருமாள் இவருடைய இல்லத்திலேயே வைணவ
திவ்யதேசங்களில் முதன்மையாகப் போற்றப்படும் திருவரங்கம், திருமலை, திருக்கச்சி
(காஞ்சி) ஆகிய தலங்களில் உறைகின்ற காட்சியும் கொடுத்து முக்தியும் அருளினார்.
அத்தலமே இன்று பூந்தமல்லி பேருந்து நிலையம் அருகில் திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள் சமேத
வரதராசப் பெருமாள் கோவில் என வழிப்பாட்டில் இருந்து வருகிறது. காஞ்சி வரதராசப்
பெருமாள் மீது "தேவராஜ அஷ்டகம்" எனும் வடமொழியில் அமைந்த நூலை இயற்றியவர்
திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள் ஆவார்.
தேவப் பெருமாளுக்குத் திருவாலவட்டம் வீசும் கைங்கர்யத்தில் ஈடுபட்டிருக்கும்
அதே சமயம் நேரடியாகத் தேவப்பெருமாள் மற்றும் பெருந்தேவித் தாயாருடன் உரையாடும்
அளவிற்குப் பெருமாள் மற்றும் தாயாரின் அருளையும் நம்பிக்கையையும்
பெற்றவர். இராமானுஜருக்கு
ஏற்பட்ட சந்தேகத்தைத் திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகளிடம் கூற அவரும் அதை தேவப்
பெருமாளிடம் எடுத்துரைக்க, பேரருளானும் மனமுவந்து ஆறு வார்த்தைகளை
அருளிச்செய்தார்.
- *அஹமேவ பரம் தத்துவம் - *நாமே உயர்ந்த தத்துவம் (நாராயணனே பரம் பொருள்).
- *தர்சநம் பேத ஏவச - *ஜீவாத்மாவும், பரமாத்மாவும் வேறு என்பது சித்தாந்தம்.
* உபாயேஷு ப்ரபத்திஸ்யாத் -* சரணாகதியே மோட்சத்திற்கான சிறந்த வழி.
* அந்திம ஸ்ம்ருதி வர்ஜநம் - *அந்திம காலத்தில் ஸ்ம்ருதி வேண்டியதில்லை.
முழுமையாகச் சரணமடைந்தவன் தன் இறுதி காலத்தில், தன் நேரம் நெருங்கும்
வேளையில், நாராயணனை நினைத்தல்வேண்டுமென்கிற நிர்பந்தமில்லை.அவ்வாத்மாவுக்கு
மோக்ஷம் நிச்சயம்.
- *தேஹாவஸாகே முக்கிஸ் யாத் - *சரீர முடிவில் மோட்சமுண்டு*.*சரணடைந்த
பிறவியின் முடிவில் மோட்சமுண்டு, மரணமானால் வைகுந்தம் ப்ராப்தமாகும்.
பாவங்கள் கழியும் வரை காத்திருக்கும் அவசியம் ஆத்மாவிற்கு இல்லை.

* பூர்ணாசார்ய ஸ்மாச்ரய -* பெரிய நம்பிகளையே குருவாகக் கொள்வதென்ற
இராமானுஜரின் எண்ணத்திற்கு விடையாக அமைந்ததே இந்த அருட்செயல்.
இந்த * “ஆறு வார்த்தைகளை”* தாமே குரு போல இருந்து விளக்கினார்
திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள். இவ்வாறு இராமானுஜர் என்ற மகானை உருவாக்கிக் கொடுத்ததில்
எல்லாமாக இருந்தவர் திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள்.
திருக்கோளூர் அம்மாள், “திருக்கச்சி நம்பிகள் போல் பெருமாளுடன் உரையாடும்
அருளைப் பெற்றேனோ?”, என்று வினவுகிறார்.

Thirukachi Nambigal

Thirukkachi Nambigal’s birth name was Gajendra Dasa. He was born in the
year 1009, in Poonamalle, Chennai. He was born in a family of merchants.
His father once gave him a large sum of money and asked him to invest it
and earn more money. Nambigal spent it all in the service of the Lord and
His devotees. After a couple of years, his father asked him about the money
and where he had invested it. Nambigal said that he had invested it in the
divine abode of the Lord. His father became angry and so Nambigal left his
household and went to Sri Rangam, where he began to do service at the
divine feet of his acharya (Guru) Swami Alavandar. Later, as per his
acharya's order, he returned to Kanchi and started doing fan service to Sri
Varadaraja Perumal.
He used to do Thiru Aalavatta Kainkaryam (fan service) to Kanchi Sri
Varadaraja Perumal and he was even blessed to listen to the conversations
between the Lord Varadharaja Perumal and his consort! Sri Thirukachi Nambi
was blessed with the rare privilege of conversing with Lord Sri Varadharaja
while performing the service to the Lord. Once when Nambi fell ill and
could not walk to Kanchipuram to present his flowers and do his service to
the Lord, Lord Varadharajan himself visited his place in the morning and
provided dharshan to Nambi with the Sun’s chakra behind him, a special
feature in the Varadharaja Perumal Temple in Poonamalle, Chennai.
Ramanujar who was known as Ilaiyazhwar at that time, was residing in
Kanchi. Ramanujar asked Nambigal if he could ask Lord Varadharaja about the
questions in his mind. Nambigal agreed and that night placed Ramanujar's
request to the Lord. Lord Varadharaja gave six answers to Nambigal and told
him that those would answer the questions in Ramanuja's mind. The six
replies were:
1. *Ahameva Paramtatvam* – Sriman Narayan is Supreme.
2.
* Darishanam Bedayevacha *– Individual jeevathmas (souls) are
different from Sriman Narayana (the Paramatma).
3.
* Upayayeshu Prapathischaath *– Prapatti (complete surrender) is the only
means to attain salvation.
4.
* Antimastriti Varjanam* – People who have surrendered to the Lord
completely need not remember the Lord at the last moments in the death
bed, to get Moksham. They will attain salvation even if they do not think
of the Lord!
5.
* Dehavasane Muktisyaath *– Moksha will be granted when the body with which
the soul surrendered, is cast off after death, in this birth itself. The
soul need not have to wait for all papa or sins to be expended.
6.
* Poornaacharya Samashraya *– Swami Ramanuja should seek Swami Periya Nambi
as his Acharya.
