FAMILY CONCEPT EAST AND WEST

1 Sri YM had seen the Family from the home to the International
level. Here the nature and Family go hand in hand together. The sanathana
dharma called it “कुटुम्बकम्”; in Tamil Kutumbam; the dharma said as
“VASUDEVA KUTUMBAKAM; many wrongly mean it as family of Vishnu, changing
the term to Vaishnavism. It is not so. VASUDHA means the earth. It meant
that all the specie of the earth sentient and insentient, are one family
since the soul is same though appears to be many merged in the Brahmam the
exposer. The only mantra on the earth existed and does exist is SARVE JANA
SUKINO BHAVANTHU. TAMIL LITERATURE says YADHUM OORE YAVARUM KELIR. All the
place on the earth and the people are related only. BG says that, I AM IN
ALL AND A STHITHA PRAGNAN SEES AS EQUAL ALL SPECIE. So, family concept
existed since the Vedic period.

2 The concept different from this existed all around us. A father
mother and their children is the family. The status for the tax treatment
of the west is Individual, company and Trust only. We have the status of
the Hindu Undivided Family which we groomed as a FAMILY. Sanathana Dharma
is never a RELIGION but A WAY OF LIFE, WAY OF A FAMILY LIFE. Here we have
KARMA YOGA the KARMA SANYASA YOGA is being treated as inferior to the KARMA
YOGA. EQUANIMITY AND EQUALITY ARE COMPONENTS OF THE BHARATHA VARSHA
UNIVERSALLY. HUF does not say even that first word HINDU other than the
foreign rulers within 400 years; previously the literature in Sanskrit
describe it as JOINT FAMILY. A joint family had a kartha and many related
family members including the widow or divorced women and their children who
are called on the other side as a SINGLE MOTHER. West is adopting us and WE
ARE ADOPTING THE WEST. The effect is that west is becoming Dharmic and the
owners here are turning down characterless, undisciplined and the walk
towards the moral turpitude. These downtrodden conditions started three
generations back.

3 How the west regret? Everyone knows STEEVE JOBS. He died a
billionaire at 56 yrs. of Pancreatic Cancer and here are his last words on
the sick bed: "I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In
others’ eyes my life is an epitome of success. However, aside from work, I
have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am
accustomed to. At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole
life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much
pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you
cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you. Material things lost can
be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost –
"Life". When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that
there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – "Book of Healthy
Life.” Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face
the day when the curtain comes down. *Treasure Love for your family, love
for your spouse, love for your friends*... Treat yourself well. Cherish
others. As we grow older, and hence wiser, we slowly realize that —•wearing
a $300 or $30 watch - they both tell the same time...•Whether we carry a
$300 or $30 wallet/handbag - the amount of money inside is the
same;•Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the road and
distance is the same, and we get to the same destination. •Whether we drink
a bottle of $300 or $10 wine - the hangover is the same; • Whether the
house we live in is 300 or 3000 sq ft - loneliness is the same. You will
realize, your true inner happiness does not come from the material things
of this world. Whether you fly first or economy class, if the plane goes
down - you go down with it… Therefore. I hope you realize, when you have
mates, buddies and old friends, brothers, and sisters, who you chat with,
laugh with, talk with, have sing songs with, talk about
north-south-east-west or heaven and earth, .... That is true happiness!!
Five Undeniable Facts of Life:

1. Do not educate your children to be rich. Educate them to be Happy. So,
when they grow up, they will know the value of things, not the price.

2. Best awarded words in London ... "Eat your food as your medicines.
Otherwise, you have to eat medicines as your food."

3. The One who loves you will never leave you for another because even if
there are 100 reasons to give up, he or she will find one reason to hold on.

4. There is a big difference between a human being and being human.

Only a few really understand it.

5. You are loved when you are born. You will be loved when you die. In
between, You must manage!

NOTE: If you just want to Walk Fast, Walk Alone! But if you want to Walk
Far, Walk Together! Six Best Doctors in the World 1. Sunlight 2. Rest
3. Exercise 4. Diet 5. Self Confidence and 6. Friends Maintain them in all
stages of Life and enjoy a healthy life.

4 We do have many stories similar in our puranas too, but we brush them
aside. Inequality and equality in the nature must be adopted as they teach
us and not as we wish to understand. Soul create the equality. Guna and
Karma create the inequality. No other concept of misconception can deviate
us universally. Trees are inequal in heights, but they do not insult one
another. Lord Krishna who stressed that all souls are equal had also said
the impacts of the Guna and Karma, advocating to lead a life of equanimity
treating everyone equally. Rig Vedam 9th Mandala chap 112 verse 3 line in
Soma pavamana says that

कारुरहं ततो भिषगुपलप्रक्षिणी नना | नानाधियोवसूयवो.अनु गा इव
तस्थिमेन्द्रायेन्दो परि सरव ||

kārurahaṃ tato bhiṣaghupalaprakṣiṇī nanā | nānādhiyovasūyavo.anu ghā iva
tasthimendrāyendo pari srava || “I am a HYMN SINGER, my father (ततो) is a
physician, my mother (नना) grinds corn on stone. Being engaged in
different occupations, we seek wealth and happiness, as cows seek food in
different pastures. May thy bounties flow for our happiness, O God.”

A family has different professions but those colours effect to earn the
wealth as each look after their acts as one who does yagna and another
specie in the Pastures without any inequality, concentrating in their
works. It also says the concept of a family in Rig Vedam.

5 The basic building block of Hindu society is the joint or extended
family, usually consisting of three of four generations living together.
The women collectively cook and share domestic responsibilities, and the
men provide the pooled income. Elders take important decisions and based on
their own experience in life, offer guidance to younger members. Within the
family, property usually passes from father to son, and men make many of
the decisions, though older ladies carry considerable influence. When women
marry, they usually join their husband’s family, though maintaining contact
with their own.

6 Joint families demonstrate firm ties of affection, strikingly
different from many Western families. Hindu scripture has elaborately
defined the dynamics of the various relationships within families. For
example, a grandchild can tease and joke with a grandparent in a familiar
way, not permissible with the father or mother. The different relatives are
given specific terms of address, unlike the west where “aunt” or “uncle”
refers to a whole host of relatives and family friends (see below).

7 The extended family traditionally provides shelter and support for the
elderly, the disabled and the less well off. Children are expected to repay
the debt owed to their parents by supporting them in their retirement and
old age. An important aspect of Joint family life is the inter-dependence
between members. Marriage itself is a broad social and religious
obligation, rather than just a relationship between partners. The extended
family provides considerable practical and emotional support, as for
example when children are born.

8 The *Chamakam* mentions completely the ideal of human happiness and
defines in the highest degree the desires to be fulfilled without
delimiting those to be asked for or to be granted.
