1 Sri YM had seen the Family from thehome to the International level.
Here the nature and Family go hand in handtogether. The sanathana dharma called
it “कुटुम्बकम्”; in Tamil Kutumbam; the dharma saidas “VASUDEVA KUTUMBAKAM;
many wrongly mean it as family of Vishnu, changing theterm to Vaishnavism. It
is not so. VASUDHA means the earth. It meant that all thespecie of the earth
sentient and insentient, are one family since the soul issame though appears to
be many merged in the Brahmam the exposer. The onlymantra on the earth existed
and does exist is SARVE JANA SUKINO BHAVANTHU. TAMILLITERATURE says YADHUM OORE
YAVARUM KELIR. All the place on the earth and thepeople are related only. BG
says that, I AM IN ALL AND A STHITHA PRAGNAN SEESAS EQUAL ALL SPECIE. So,
family concept existed since the Vedic period.
2 The concept different from this existedall around us. A father mother
and their children is the family. The status forthe tax treatment of the west
is Individual, company and Trust only. We havethe status of the Hindu Undivided
Family which we groomed as a FAMILY. SanathanaDharma is never a RELIGION but A
WAY OF LIFE, WAY OF A FAMILY LIFE. Here we have KARMA YOGA the KARMA SANYASA
YOGAis being treated as inferior to the KARMA YOGA. EQUANIMITY AND EQUALITY
ARECOMPONENTS OF THE BHARATHA VARSHA UNIVERSALLY. HUF does not say even that
firstword HINDU other than the foreign rulers within 400 years; previously
theliterature in Sanskrit describe it as JOINT FAMILY. A joint family had a
karthaand many related family members including the widow or divorced women and
theirchildren who are called on the other side as a SINGLE MOTHER. West is
adoptingus and WE ARE ADOPTING THE WEST. The effect is that west is becoming
Dharmicand the owners here are turning down characterless, undisciplined and
the walktowards the moral turpitude. These downtrodden conditions started
threegenerations back.
3 How the west regret? Everyone knows STEEVE JOBS. Hedied a
billionaire at 56 yrs. of Pancreatic Cancer and here are his last wordson the
sick bed: "I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.In others’
eyes my life is an epitome of success. However, aside from work, Ihave little
joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomedto. At this

4 We do have manystories similar in our puranas too, but we brush them
aside. Inequality and equalityin the nature must be adopted as they teach us
and not as we wish tounderstand. Soul create the equality. Guna and Karma
create the inequality. Noother concept of misconception can deviate us
universally. Trees are inequal in heights, but they do notinsult one another.
Lord Krishna who stressed that all souls are equal had alsosaid the impacts of
the Guna and Karma, advocating to lead a life of equanimitytreating everyone
equally. Rig Vedam 9th Mandala chap 112 verse 3line in Soma pavamana says that
कारुरहं ततो भिषगुपलप्रक्षिणी नना | नानाधियोवसूयवो.अनु गा इव तस्थिमेन्द्रायेन्दो
परि सरव ||
kārurahaṃ tato bhiṣaghupalaprakṣiṇī nanā | nānādhiyovasūyavo.anughā iva
tasthimendrāyendo pari srava || “I am a HYMN SINGER, my father (ततो) is a
physician,my mother (नना) grindscorn on stone. Being engaged in different
occupations, we seek wealth andhappiness, as cows seek food in different
pastures. May thy bounties flow forour happiness, O God.”
A family hasdifferent professions but those colours effect to earn the
wealth as each lookafter their acts as one who does yagna and another specie in
the Pastureswithout any inequality, concentrating in their works. It also says
the conceptof a family in Rig Vedam.
5 The basicbuilding block of Hindu society is the joint or extended family,
usuallyconsisting of three of four generations living together. The women
collectivelycook and share domestic responsibilities, and the men provide the
pooledincome. Elders take important decisions and based on their own experience
inlife, offer guidance to younger members. Within the family, property
usuallypasses from father to son, and men make many of the decisions, though
olderladies carry considerable influence. When women marry, they usually join
theirhusband’s family, though maintaining contact with their own.
6 Joint familiesdemonstrate firm ties of affection, strikingly different
from many Westernfamilies. Hindu scripture has elaborately defined the dynamics
of the variousrelationships within families. For example, a grandchild can
tease and jokewith a grandparent in a familiar way, not permissible with the
father ormother. The different relatives are given specific terms of address,
unlike thewest where “aunt” or “uncle” refers to a whole host of relatives and
familyfriends (see below).
7 The extendedfamily traditionally provides shelter and support for the
elderly, the disabledand the less well off. Children are expected to repay the
debt owed to theirparents by supporting them in their retirement and old age.
An important aspectof Joint family life is the inter-dependence between
members. Marriage itselfis a broad social and religious obligation, rather than
just a relationshipbetween partners. The extended family provides considerable
practical andemotional support, as for example when children are born.
8 The Chamakam mentionscompletely the ideal of human happiness and defines
in the highest degree thedesires to be fulfilled without delimiting those to be
asked for or to begranted.

Nation, Religion,Tribe, Caste, Family..., all indicate the yearning of a
person, not to berestricted to a narrow self definition, but to extend into the
Universe, as apart of the Universe. It is the pull of nature, to subsume one as
nature. It isthe basic indication of love and affection and reverence for
nature. One wasattached to one’s own Geography of rivers, mountains;
lakes...along with one’sown blood relatives. Can anyone really imagine life
without a family base andfamily identity? A family is the first limb of the

The properties or ingredientsof a family depend on the climate of the area. The
families of the equatorial forests,with very thick vegetation and daily
rainfall, brims with smells of variouslife forms, all sensing and communicating

thick forest subsumes theorganisms into its great hormonal system of winds,

Nature continuouslyspeaks in the shape of various Gods, and the people obey
nature with great reverence.Sensing nature is education, not cutting away
nature and indulging in themathematical reductionism, ultimately leading to
family base reductionism.
It will be wonderful ifan Endocrinologist studies the local geography also as
an extension of one’shormonal system. Then the present mad destruction of
forests in the stupidhysteria for profits created by economists may get
reduced. Trade and Commercehave created a mass hysteria for profits, all sanity
being buried under thetechnical looking growth etc curves. Please don’t be
dazzled by theeconometrics flaunted by economists, there is very little sense
in it; themathematical reductionism is sanity reductionism in disguise.
A family in thetropical monsoon area with monsoons creating gigantic rivers
that flood withwater and fertile new soil (the soil is arrested by Dams), is
different fromthe families of the thick evergreen Amazon or Congo forests. The
variety offamilies runs into thousands as the tropical grasslands, the
temperate grasslands,the hot tropical deserts, the cold temperate deserts, the
taiga forests, the Tundra...,have generated a wide variety of geographical
hormonal systems, of differentmacro bodies, extending into the individual
hormonal and nervous systems of theindividuals, creating particular families,
as extensions of the climate of theregion.
The basic purpose of afamily is to provide the basic facility where a member is
approved and acceptedand where there are no personal secrets.
