Q1         Just like Meera Bai considered Lord Krishna as her husband,is there
any devotee who considered Lord Shiva as a spouse?

A1          Shared by TarunYadavAdvaita Acharya26-2-2021

Yessssss! There are many. But Iwant to share here -

Akka Mahadevi - who loved God Shiva as her husband and the firstwoman
revolutionary who broke all the norms

I feel 500ish years old Meerabaihistory is adapted version 1,000 years old Akka
Mahadevi.

Akka Mahadevi was most the beautiful woman. She was given marriage to aKing in
Karnataka. She had no interest in anyone apart God Shiva!

She spoke to that King that shebelongs only to God Shiva

She then threw off all the luxury. All her clothes. All her jewelry.Kicked the
King palace off. Left that marriage. I mean really in that boldsense that she
left all worldly attachments. Some say she even renounced allthe clothes.

She became a FEMALE SAINT - whichwas rarity in those days.

She shattered the all thenorms. She boldly said her husband is only God Shiva
as Mallikarjuna swamy

She was first Kannada female poet. She composed many Vachanas or shortpoems.

At around 30 age, she renounced even this world by going alone to Kadali Vana
or the garden ofBanana plantations near Sri Mallikarjun Swamy temple,
Srishaila, one of theJyotirlinga.

She there had deepest union with God Mallikarjunswamy.

Her body wasn't found. Nothing of her was found. Shejust merged into her
husband Mallikarjun Swamy! And both became sameone. That is the level of
intense love she had for her husband God Shiva

Yet she wasn't emotional saint. She harshly criticized societal disorder.Jai
Shiva-Parvati

Q2         What is one fact that you know is true but still blows yourmind?

A2   Sunny Dhondkar December4Writer. IIT Bombay, MEC E.

When you spill water on your shirt, it looks darker than the rest of thecloth.
Why does it happen?

The lack of awareness regarding this question still blows my mind.
Thisphenomenon is so regular that most of us ignore it as if it’s a universal
truthof nature. You don’t question, others don’t answer.

This is what we experience daily without giving a thought:

If water spills on your shirt → Wet area gets darker

You might ask why this kind of unawareness among people blows my mind.People
are unaware of lots of things that go unnoticed.

Answering to that: This phenomenon lets people notice when you pee yourpants,
causing a load of embarrassment still, you don’t know the mechanismbehind it.
Isn’t that mind blowing?

It’s not just your shirt or your pants that show this behaviour. All of the
so-called daily lifematerials become darker when they get wet.

Take a concrete road for example: The walls of your house:

If something gets wet, it isbound to get darker. This fact is “usual” to that
extent, nobody questions it.

Getting to the physics behind it. Let’s assume that you are wearing ablue shirt.

What makes the person standing in front of you know that the shirt
you’rewearing is blue?

It is done by the absorption of electromagnetic waves by the material ofyour
shirt.

Radiation from a source, say sunlight, strikes on your shirt.
Thiselectromagnetic radiation is a set of distinct wavelengths. Visible light
is asmall part of the entire set, which is known as the Electromagnetic
Spectrum.

Different colours corresponding to different wavelengths in the visiblelight
part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

After striking on your shirt, waves with wavelengths not lying in the region of
380 nm - 500 nm, from thevisible light part, are absorbed by the material of
your shirt. The remaining waves (of wavelengthlying in 380 nm - 500 nm) get
back to your eyes. These waves are detected asblue… by your eyes.

The situation with no water spilt on your shirt

But that’s not the case when water is spilt over your shirt. Light has totravel
through a completely different journey.

This is what happens:The situation with water spilt on your shirt

Light strikes on the surface of the water and undergoes Refraction(because the
refractive index of water is greater than that of air). Ontravelling further,
it undergoes Reflection after striking on your shirt. Somepart of the light is
absorbed and the remaining light (with the wavelength ofthe blue region) goes
further.

On reaching the boundary of water, if the angle of incidence is greaterthan the
critical angle, light undergoes Total Internal Reflection. So, itbounces back
to the water medium.

[The value of the critical angle is determined by the Arcsine of theratio of
refractive indices of the two corresponding mediums — here, air andwater]

We know that the intensity of light decreases when it undergoesabsorption. So,
when light strikes on the surface of your shirt, again, itsintensity is reduced.

On bouncing back to the surface of the water, it refracts further (if theangle
of incidence of the light ray is lesser than the critical angle), andreaches
your eyes. Your eyes interpret this as thedarker version of blue.

So, the next time your friend scares the sh*t out of you and you pee yourpants,
curse total internal reflection.

Q3         Can you tell about The Mysterious pool of India whose depthis still
unresolved [Must Read]

A3          Shared by Yashprit Sahooon 27-2-2021

Hello Guys, I am Yashprit back with a new mysterious topic…..Let us tellyou
that this kund seems to be very simple to see, but its specialty will chillyour
spine down…so without any delay Let's enter to the world of mystery
withYashprit only on DARK HORSE.

Bhimkund is a natural watersource and a holy place that purportedly dates from
the era of the Mahabharata. The water of the kund (tank) is soclean and
transparent that one can clearly see fish swimming in the water. The kund lies
in a cave, about 3metres from the mouth. To the left of the entrance is a
smallShivalinga. The pool is a deep indigo blue which contrasts withthe red
stone walls.

A story from the Mahabharatalinks Bhimkund with the Pandavas. Weary under the
scorching Surya, Draupadi fainted of thirst. Bhim, thestrongest of the five
brothers, hit the ground with his gada water surged outand the pool came into
being. The roof of the cave has a small opening justabove the kund; this is
theplace Bhim is said to have hit with his gada.

Another legend has it that theVedic sage Narada performedthe Gandharva Gaanam
(celestial song) in praise of Lord Vishnu. Pleased with his devotion,
Vishnuemerged from the kund and the water turned blue because of Vishnu’s
darkcomplexion.

The pool is 40-80 m wide and looks exactly like a mace. It is also saidthat
whenever a natural disaster (floods, storms, tsunamis) occurs in the
Asiancontinent, the water in the pool automatically rises.

According to reports, localadministration, foreign scientists and the Discovery
Channel tried to find outthe depth of this mysterious pool, but they failed to
do so. According to information, foreign scientistsonce sent cameras up to 200
meters underwater to find out the depth of thepool, but they didn't got
anything. On the other hand, the water is as holy asthe water of river Ganga
and never gets deteriorate.

Why science surprised?

Many scientists tried to find out by doing research on how its water isso clean
and clean? And also wanted to know its depth but to date, no one hassolved its
mystery.

Once the divers went inside it, they told that there are big holes like 2wells
inside. Water comes from oneand goes back from the other and its speed is also
very fast.

Mystery, which has not yet lifted the curtain.

Its water is always clean and clean. Things are visible to a large extentin it
and when the sunlight comes on this pool, then a very beautiful view isseen.

Apart from this, there is a secret that the water level of this tanknever
decreases. The ashram built here also houses a lot of children and supplies
water toall the surrounding areas from here. the water level here never
decreases evenin the summertime. Once even the water was extracted from the
water pump by thegovernment to know its bottom, even then the level here did
not decrease.

Q4         Can you tell about the relation between Radha Rani andMahalekshmi?

A4          Mulaprakriti Radharaniwith Lord Krishna.

I do not know why people say these days that Mata Kali is demigoddess and
Mahalakshmi isincarnation of Radharani. This is incorrect.

Goddess Kali and Sri Lalita Tripurasundari are supreme goddesses. Mata Parvati
is direct manifestationof Sri Lalita Tripurasundari. From Mata Parvati came
Mahavidyas. Mata Kali is Adi Mahavidya. She is not demigoddess or one shakti
who is born from some one. She is eternal and notborn from any one. She became
Mata Sati, who was one of daughters of Daksha. Then she became Parvati, child of
Himavan and Mena. She became MataVindhyavasini, she became Mata Siddhidatri,
she becameMahalakshmi(not Vishnupatni) , she is one who is Mulaprakriti. All
Navadurgas andMahavidyas are manifestations of Mata Parvati. Mata Parvati is
Mulaprakriti andLord Shiv is Purusha. GoddessParvati is not some demigoddess,
which some people claim and she can never bedemigoddess. She is supreme shakti
and one of shaktis of Mulaprakriti.

Same way some people claim that Goddess Mahalakshmi is manifestation ofGoddess
Radha . Some ofthem even say thousands of goddesses of fortune are born from
Radharani. Most scriptures say that Mahalakshmi is supreme and not born from any
one. Sheeternally lives within Vaikuntha with Lord Vishnu. Rukmini is not
incarnation of Radharani. She isMulaprakriti which is mentioned within
scripture Gopal Tapani Upanishadand Mahabharata mentioned her to be supreme
among women. Then how Rukmini canbe incarnation of any goddess?

Durvasa rishi himself blessed her that she would be supreme among womenand all
16000 wives of Lord Krishna. Then how you can simply call her devotee ofLord
Krishna and not his beloved wife?

Mata Parvati and Sri Rukminiare not less important than Radharani. We should
stop comparing goddesses and their superiority with eachother. Radharani and
Rukmini are incarnations of Mahalakshmi. Both are Mulaprakritis but are
manifestations of Goddess Mahalakshmi.Mahalakshmi or Rukmini and Bhudevi live
within Vaikuntha with Lord Vishnu whileMahalakshmi or Radharani, and Bhudevi
live wth Lord Krishna within their divine abode Goloka. LordRama lives with
Goddess Sita within Saketa planet. All these incarnations ofLord Vishnu namely
Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Narasimha are incarnations ofLord Vishnu and
allgoddesses Radharani, Rukmini, Sita and Padmavati are manifestations of
GoddessMahalakshmi. Mahalakshmi or goddess of fortune is not incarnation ofany
goddess.

Q5         When did you first realize you were wealthy?

A5          Katyayani Misra February17-2021 M.Sc in Chemistry, Nanyang
Technological University (Graduated 2010)

Years ago I went to my dads village, I noticed a cousin ( In the
villageeveryone is my cousin) would always stay at home, help her mother do
chores andall. She was 16 and they werelooking for a groom.

I asked my aunt why is she not in school?

“ If she studies so much who will marry her?”

YupThats what I heard and I was stunned cause

My dad always till this day pushes me to study hard.

The thought that somebody could be denied education for a frickin’marriage to
some lame dude who flunked school?

Then I realised its because I have a choice cause Iam wealthy

Because my dad had enough money to marry me off to a guy of my choice, tosend
me for higher education, private school fancy clothes. I can think likethis.

I have a choice to either squander my privilege of education or utilizeit to
its maximum potential.

Years later I came to know Her husband turned out to be a drunkard.Heforced her
to have kids even though she was immensely ill as he had 4 daughters

She died while giving birth to a son, funny is that her husbands
familycelebrates the birth of their son on the same day she died. She was only
28.

The threat of being thrown out by the husband as she only gave him girlswas
higher for own birth family than her life.

To know that this baby has a high proximity of annulling her life must beso
scary but what choice she had? She had no control over her womb, her lifeand
her fate anyways.

Her name was Laxmi. Mine is Katyayani. Both female Goddesses butabsolutely
opposite fates.

Conclusion

There are many Laxmi’s around you who have no choice but to surrender tothe
wishes of the elders, society and even die for it. What would Laxmi be hadshe
gotten an education, probably someone who could do something more thandying to
give birth to a son.

Wealth is not just materials, its a power and before you squander it, think of
that one Laxmi who couldn’tmake it.

Jai Parshuram ( In the memory of Laxmi from a sister Katyayani).

Q6         Why do people work so hard in life even though they knowthat nothing
they have done or ever will do will remain with them?

A6          Awdhesh SinghDated June10, 2017

Ex-IRS|IITian|Educator|Author Essay & Ethics book for UPSC

Imagine that you have to perform a long distance train journey from Delhito
Mumbai. You have several options to travel.

1: You can travel by AirConditioned (AC) Tier-I Class whereyou can sleep
comfortably in the night and reach to your destinationcomfortably reading a few
books, surfing the net and listening the music.

2: You can travel by Sleepercompartment, where you can geta berth to sleep but
you have to suffer all the noise of the moving train andthe hot/cold weather in
the night.

3: You can travel by in a ‘unreserved’ general compartment where you maynot
even get a seat and you have to spend your night standing on foot.

In all the three cases, you start and reach to the same destinationexactly at
the same time. However, your journey is not the same in all three cases.

Imagine a journey which lasts for 80-100 years.

Given a choice you would like to travel by AC class with all the comfort.
However, you have to earn money to buy an ACticket which would be 5-6 times
more than the price of the general classcompartment. You have to work hard to
earn that money to buy the tickets.

The journey of life is similar to the journey by train.

Everyone is born one day and everyone has to die one day.

What is different is the experience between the birth and death.

If your journey is pleasant, life is a joy.If your journey is unpleasant, life
is a torture.Every person has the right to live his life with joy andavoid
torture when he is alive.

Q7         What is the "windshield phenomenon"?

A7          Sean Kernan February 18-2021

It’s the observation that thenumber of insects being killed by car windshields
has been drasticallydeclining despite the number of cars increasing:

They don’t know the exact reason but suspect it is either caused by:

a decline in insect populationswhich has been observed in recent years

Or by changing (improving)aerodynamics in cars. Which areflowing the insects
over the car as you drive.

Cars have developed a less boxy look than they did years ago. Cars usedto look
like giant rolling cubes.
