Q1 Is brown sugar better than white for diabetes? A1 Cicuyuwa Marewa January4-2021-Studied at Diabete Can brown sugar still be consumed by diabetics? Compared to brown sugar, whitesugar contains slightly higher carbohydrates and calories, as well as few nutrients. Brown sugar and whitesugar are both composed of sucrose, which can increase blood sugar levels. Meanwhile, maintaining a balance of blood sugar levels is the mostimportant thing for diabetics. If you are diabetic, onething you have to remember is brown sugar is no better than white sugar. All kinds of sugar can affect your health. EXCESS SUGAR is not only dangerous for diabetes, but also spreads to other serious diseases, such asheart disease, obesity and kidney fat. Brown sugar is also considered an added sugar that can affect thedecrease in insulin sensitivity. My note- It is excess sure. Smallamount of sugar would not harm if consumed once a while. My doctor used to suggest have food as we like once amonth. Q2 Which are the diseases that are still not curable in India? A2 Aryan Kapoor 9-3-2021Livesin Rajasthan, India-2 years back, me and my friend were travelling by a train. At a particular station, about 7–8 ladies(from rural area) boarded thetrain and they had a adolescent guy of about 15 years with them. That boy was not appearing well at all. In fact he appeared veryemaciated to us. As myfriend is a doctor, he said this to me, “I think this guy has high feverand is probably suffering from a severe illness’. And I replied,“Maybe! Should we ask them?” And he replied.“Nah! Let it go”. As the journey went on, we saw a very strange behavior from all thoseladies. They were sitting near the window and were bowing down to ever temple they saw on the railwaystation(yes, some have those) as well as any temple that was visible from adistance. We were confused. At last, I couldn’t hold it and asked one of them, “Why are you bowing down to every temple you see?” And she replied, somewhat in a reluctant tone, “We are praying for the wellbeing of our boy. He is very sick and our XYZ Baba has asked us to do so while we are taking him to his main ashram!” Me and my friend were shocked on hearing that. We even asked them aboutthe problem but they were unaware of that. They never went to the hospital once to get him checked. Yes, this is the ultimate disease that is still incurable in India. This disease and menace in the formof these so called “Babas” misguiding people combined with people’silliteracy really is disturbing and is eating India as a whole. By the way,My friend saved that boy in the train itself. Butthat is a long story. It was a complete drama that day. I will tell you thatlater on. Q3 What things should I never do? A3 Adarsh Goswami UpdatedOctober 7-2020 Books · Avid reader Yesterday I was heading towards home(Jhansi) from Bengaluru which is morethan a day's journey so out of boredom I started to talk to the sweepers and workers about their life. One thing is for sure if you just pass a smile to these people they are readyto tell their entire life to you without a hesitation. Such was theconversation between me and Hari (pantry guy) : I : Aap kaha se ho? I : So where are you from? Hari : Jharkhand se bhaiya. Aap kaha ja rhe hain? Hari : I am from Jharkhand bhaiya(brother). Where are you going? I : Jhansi . Aur bataiye kaisa hai sab ? Kitna kama lete hain aap, kaamchal jata hai kya utne me? I : I am going to Jhansi. (Then a moment of silence and inorder to breakthat silence i asked..) So how is life ? Whatever you get as an income, is itsufficient for survival ?" Hari : Bhaiya 10k milta hai ,waise bhi bhut mushkil hai utne me rehnalekin 2-3k aane jaane me hi lag jata hai har mahine. Hari : Bhaiya (Brother) I get asalary of 10k per month , anyways it is difficult to survive with 10k per monthand the situation gets even worse when I need to give 2-3k every month fortravelling cost. I : Aana jana matlab? Aapko paisa dena padta hai kya train me chalne ka ? I : By travelling cost what do you mean? Do you need to pay for your tickets? Hari : Nahi bhaiya vo baat nhi hai, aana jana matlab jo cheej kho jati yalog le jate unke liye paisa hamko dena padta hai.Jaise har seat par ekkhole(thick blanket), ek takiya, do aur kambal aur ek towel hoti hai. Har towelkhone par hamko 43Rs salary se dena padta hai.Kuch log to ghar le jate haitowel uthake kisi ko to pay karna padta hai uska bhi. Hari : No bhaiya(brother), by transportation cost I meant the cost which we need to pay if somethinggoes missing. Every seat has a thick blanket, a pillow, two more thinblankets and a towel. Each towel costs ₹ 43 to us if lost. Some people take these towels home intheir bags as if it is their property, someone needs to pay for it and the costis actually deducted from our salary then. I am sure many of you might have heard of these kind of acts by peopletravelling in railways : bulbs from toilet, even fans, towels, blankets gettingstolen and if you haven't it is there going on. Not to mention it is kind of abig deal to these workers who needs to pay 2-3k from their 10k salary for thesepetty thefts performed by us. So please ifyou have ever done this kind of stuff before just never repeat it. And please share this message so that these people can live in a bettersociety. If you have done this before I am sure you never knew about theconsequences because you never bothered but my friend these acts can sometimescost their kids to sleep having an empty stomach. Be a bit reasonable. One towel, one bulb, one blanket won't make yourich, but it can surely hurt some people. Together lets make this a betterplace to live. My note- I have not verified the authority whether the charges of theused towels are recovered from last grade staff What is something you shouldnever do?You should never steal someone’s bread. Q4 What are the most interesting things about Ahmedabad? A4 Sahil Jain UpdatedAugust 9, 2018 Lives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (2018–present) I shifted to Ahmedabad 3 months ago and few things I observed are quitein unique themselves. As I used to stay in Bangalore previously, I'll quote allthe things in comparison with the Bangalore. 1. If you are in Bangalore, you will find people carrying booze inblue/black carry bags along with large plastic cups. You will find themsneaking into every corner they encounter. In Ahmedabad you will find themsneaking too, but with tea in small pouches and small cups. We are obsessed with the tea beyond any limits. 2. If you ask for gold, you will be handed this.I asked for gold inAhmedabad, I was handed this.(Gold flake cigerette) 3. I'm insanely vegetarian. Like, I go to restaurants which serve onlyveg food. When I was in Bangalore, I had to eat out everyday. I had maximum of3 options at any time. In Ahmedabad, every secondplace is a eating outlet. And It will take me years to visit all the vegetarianrestaurants. 3. Every city has a ring road, and may be even a outer ring road. EvenAhmedabad had a ring road. But how many times have you heard about a Daimetrical road ? Ahmedabad has a riverfront road which runs straight as a diameter in theheart of city, connecting two ends of the city. The riverfrontroad along the river in both sides with minimumtraffic signals and great infrastructure. 4. You don't have power cuts in Ahmedabad. Period. 5. Ahmedabad has Raipur, Jodhpur in the city. They are the names of areasinside the city. 6. A lot and a lot of Business parks and industrial estates. You will find them morethan you can find engineering colleges in whole of Karnataka. Based on recommendations l will add one more thing : 7. We have a place which is vegetable market in the morning, jewellerymarket in the noon and a wonderful place full of street food in night. It goesby name ‘ManekChowk'. Q5 What is something electrical engineers know that othersdon't? A5 Charlene Mitchell April11, 2020 Former Ceramic & Porcelain Tiles Sales Consultant at EK CeramicsConsultancy Hello. What I’m writing here, isactually very basic, but interesting! Every common man (who uses electricity) knows what is the Tester &how to use it. But most of the people don’t know how exactly it works? Yes, I’m talking about this, the Tester! We use tester to check whether electrical supply is available atelectrical outlet/socket. When we insert tester into socket (touching base of the tester with oneof our fingers) & switch ON the supply, if supply is available light insidetester glows. Correct? But do youknow, when you do such thing, current flows through your body, completing thecircuit & hence light glows…! So electrons complete path from socket>tester>finger>ourbody>ground..! These types of currents, which does not cause any harm to our body arecalled as “let gocurrents”. (For women, it is typically 5 to 7 milliamperes, and formen, typically 7 to 9 milliamperes. This is dependent on the muscle mass of theindividual.) Try doing this: Stand on plastic/wooden chair. Insert tester in socket, with one of your fingers touching end of tester. Switch ON the supply. If you follow above steps you will find, light inside tester illuminates but intensity is quitelow. Because additional resistance gets added in circuit. My note- If absolutely needed elders may use phase tester insulated tilltip and pin tip wearing footwear. Phase will glow with lesser illumination. Q6 Why perfect chapathi puff? A6 You see your mom working in the kitchen and notice onething. She is making roti or chapati (an Indian dish), for your meal. Aftersome perfect trials, sheis able to puff the roti, at a point of time. The roti is puffed up like aballoon: What perfection! But why does a roti puff up? And why does it happen only when you make itperfectly, without any mistake. We know that roti does not puffevery time. You need to be pro like your Mom. Let me tell you the physics behind the puffing of a roti like a balloon. To make roti, we firstly add water to wheat flour (powder). Then amalleable clay-like dough is formed. One question arises… Why does a clay-like single solid object is formed after we add water towheat grain powder (flour), instead of forming a cloudy liquid? Well, the wheat flour containstwo major proteins named Gliadin and Glutenin. When water is added to the flour, the chains of these proteins kind ofcombine together and form globules. The globule that results fromthat combination is another kind of protein called Gluten. (Formed by thecombination of Gliadin and Glutenin). Gluten is known for its elasticand rubbery behaviour. These proteins form molecular bonds with watermolecules, instead of dissolving in it.This way, the dough is formed, which ismalleable. But the dough has one limitation. It changes its shape according to thewill only when the person handling it is Mom. You might have noticed that it takes random shape on its own when you tryhandling it. Seriously, it is such a doughebag! Okay, coming back to theroti-physics. Now that the dough is formed, we flatten it and put it on a hot pan. Some time goes, but it does notpuff up instantly. Why? See, when you start heating the roti, at first its bottom surface isheating. Water present in the dough starts evaporating. These water vapours start forming bubbles in the dough. But, the bottom surface is still soft. So, the bubbles of water vapour formed in the dough startescaping from the bottom surface. With time, water vapour keepsescaping from the bottom and the bottom surface hardens. The roti to puff up completely, the bubbles need to expand laterally. But, the upper surface hasn’t hardened yet. So, instead of expandinglaterally, the bubbles escape from the top. (As the upper surface is only a millimetres away from where the bubblesfor Now, you flip the roti. Thehardened bottom surface gets to thetop and the malleable & soft surface shifts to the bottom. With time, thissurface of roti is hardened too. Now, both the top and bottomsurfaces are hardened. The bubbles of water vapour don’t get a surface toescape from. They are left with the only option of expanding laterally. With time, all bubbles formedcoalesce together and form a large bubble. And finally… You get a beautifullypuffed roti! Sunny Dhondkar Post credits: Hey, don’t go!I have not asked one more question yet. Why do we have a single bubble ofwater vapour, instead of having multiple? Suppose that ’n’ number of bubbles with equal radius are formed insidethe roti. These bubbles are made by driving two surfaces apart, that is, bybreaking bonds between the molecules. All surface areas of bubbles are made ata cost of energy required to break those molecular bonds. So, to minimize the use ofenergy, the surface area must be minimized. Q7 Have you ever experienced karma in real life? A7 Shoaib Shaikh UpdatedMay 12, 2020Former Receptionist at Hotels This is my personal experience I will share with you how karma works.Fromthis incident, I believe that Karma works. I was working in a hotel as a receptionist few years back. One day wereceived a Group Booking of foreigners of 5 couple for 5 rooms. The guest came to check-in we have provided them smooth check-in and theywent to the rooms for rest. They stayed for 2 Nights 3 days in our hotel. We provide them our bestservice and not given single chance to complain. They have come to explore Ajanta & Ellora caves and othersightseeing. So in 3 days they have visited almost all places. In those 3 dayswe have made a good relation with all of them. So last day they came to check-out at reception and we were done aprocedure of check-out. That time our manager also was there. So aftercheck-out my manager collected pending amount from them. Then we wished themhappy journey and all. At the time of leaving Hotel the one guy who is head of that group hasgiven INR5000/- to the manager andasked him to distribute to all staff as they are very satisfied with ourservices. Manager said thanks to him and they left the hotel. I myself have seen the persongiving INR5000 to the manager. I informed to the rest of the staff and they were so happy that somethingthey will get that day. Because we are getting Salary once a month also hoteldoes not provide any advance. We are total 8 staff was thereincluding security guard. So if we divide the amount (5000) so somethingRs.625/- each will get. But Our Manager gave us INR 100 per person and said that the guest hasgiven only INR1000/- as a Tip. So I'mgiving you 100 to each and taking 200 for myself. We were very shocked how he can do such cheating with his staff. I toldhim that he gave you INR5000 for staff, but he clearly denied it and shouted atme and said do your work not put your nose in different matter. That time all staff were very upset and just blamed our manager for thisincidence. Now how Karma works. Next day the manager was coming down from the second floor to first floorvia stairs and he is using mobile phone. He was using an IPhone (Don't rememberthe model). So while coming down from stairs the mobile fell from his hand and themobile screen was damaged. Then he went to Service center and they informed the price of the displayis something like 8 or 9k.So he spent 8 or 9 k to repair the mobile. Frankly telling that time all staff were very happy. It's not about the money and this incidence but every time our managerwas doing something against the staff. So this is a karma. After this incidents we come to know that karma isfor such type of people. Please be honest & humble with everyone, Respect everyone, Becooperative with all. Stay safe , stay home.
