Will do. From our member: A nice scenario. KR IRS 11521 *Bhavabhuthi is said to be a contemporary of Maha Kavi Kalidasa.** His great work is the drama Uththara Rama Charitham . **There is an interesting story about this!* * After writing the Drama, Bhavabhuthi wanted to have a critical review **of the same by Maha Kavi Kalidasa. He called one of his students* *and directed him to take it to Kalidasa and obtain **his considered opinion on the same. ** Accordingly ,the student went to meet Kalidasa, who was at that time* *at his paramour's house. Kaldasa was sitting on a swing and was chewing ** the betel leaves being offered by his consort. His mouth was full of* * chewed betel leaves. He showed with his hands to the student to **start reading the same for him to listen. ** The student was reading and Kalidasa continued to chew betel leaves* * without uttering a word. When the student completed reading, Kalidasa ** again silently bid farewell to the student to go back, taking the work with him!* * The student came back and Bhavabhuhti asked him as to what were the comments by Kaldasa. **The student replied that Kalidasa did not say any thing!* * Bhavabhuthi was surprised and said that it is impossible for ** Kaldasa not to comment on any piece of literary work. **He asked the student to narrate the entire visit without omitting even trivial incidents. **The student told, that all through Kaldasa was chewing betel leaves **and did not speak anything! Then he said, "Ah! I remember! "* *At one point, while spitting the juice from his mouth, **he turned to his consort and remarked SUNNAM ADHIKAM. **But that was on the amount of calcium added to the betel leaves.* * Bhavabhuthi got enraged and said "I am not asking for your opinions! ** Tell me , at what point of the reading, he made this comment?" ** The student rummaged through the palm leaves and came to the place, ** where Kalidasa made this remark. ** It was on the scene where Sri Rama and Seetha Devi were alone **enjoying each others company in SHRUNGAARA RASA ,with their ** cheeks rubbing and speaking nonsense words all through the night!* * The passage ends with the words RAATHRI YAEVAM VISISHYATH. ** It means that the night passed this way. ** ( In sanskrit the word YAEVAM is written by writing the letters* * AE, VA and then to denote consonent M , a small circle will be made on the letter VA.) ** Bhavabhuthi was overjoyed to hear this now and asked his student to* *read the sentence now without the small circle at the end!* * The student read it now as RAATHRI YEVA VISISHYATH. ** The meaning of this altered sentence is that Sri Rama and Seetha Devi **coninued talking and talking and only the night came to an end and not their talks! ** The SHRUNGAARA Rasa was enhanced manifold with that small correction mad by Kalidasa!*
