Q1         Why do Arabs wash theirfeet?

A1          Gia Daniel November 23 Practicing Muslima in America

Because like other body parts, feet get dirty.

If you are asking why do Arab Muslims wash their feet during the courseof the
day, it is because they, like other Muslims, perform routine cleaning of
literally head to toeafter passing urine, feces, flatus, or eating camel meat.
Theprocess and order are in the Qur’aan and ahadeeth, the written accounts of
theactions and words of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions.

005.006 (Part) "O you who believe! when you stand up for prayer, then wash
(Arabic: ghusl) your faces and your hands (and arms) to the elbowsand wipe
(Arabic: Mas'ahu) your heads and your feet to the ankles..."

Book 2, Number 0436:

Humran, the freed slave of 'Uthman, said: Uthman b. 'Affan called forablution
water and this is how he performed the ablution. He washed his handsthrice. He
then rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose with water (three times). He then
washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to the elbowthree
times, then washed his left arm like that, then wiped his head; then washed his
right foot up tothe ankle three times, then washed his left foot like that, and
then said:I saw the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) perform ablution
like thisablution of mine. Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)
said: He who performs ablution likethis ablution of mine and then stood up (for
prayer) and offered two rak'ahs ofprayer without allowing his thoughts to be
distracted, all his previous sinsare expiated. Ibn Shihab said: Our scholars
remarked: This is themost complete of the ablutions performed for prayer.

Q2         Why is India so quick tothrow its Hindu legacy away? The Hindu faith
has so much to offer the patchwork of spiritual working in the world.

A2          Varun Venkatasubramanian8m ago

This question was more relevantin 2011 than it is at present. Today, people
world over have started embracing their Hindu identity. The “liberal” thought is
no longer as prominent as it used to be and will staythat way for the
foreseeable future. If you want to promote Hindutva, focus on the
communitybuilding and inclusive aspects of it. It's unique in that everyother
political ideology has an “us vs them" aspect to it but this seeksto “unite".
The fundamentals of Hindutva are good in many ways. Do a studyof what you're
promoting and adapt to the times and present realities.

Q3         Apart from Hinduism, isthere any religion in which a dead body is
cremated?

Rami Sivan Priest, Dharma teacher, counsellor, Gov. Advisor(1998–present) Sat

Cremation has been practiced invarious places in the world from ancient times -
the Romans and the Greekssometimes cremated the dead. InEurope evidence of
cremation has been found from c. 2000 BCE.

The early Persians cremated theirdead until Zoroastrianism became the state
religion.

In the Middle ages creation was forbidden by the Church because of
itsassociation with pagan practices and because of the entrenched belief
inresurrection of the dead on the Day of Judgement. Cremation /burning at the
stake was viewed as theworst possible punishment after execution for a crime -
usually heresy- because it totally negated the possibility of a resurrection
and eternallife.

The first crematorium in the Western World opened in Milan in 1876.Milan's
"Crematorium Temple" still stands but ceased to be operationalin 1992

My note- Even in Hinduism thereis burial of the dead body in certain
circumstances. The community PISHARODIassociated with temples bury their  dead.

Q4         As a boss, did it happento you that you yelledat an employee and
then regreted it (or even felt ashamed) ?

A4          Kevin Murphy IT ServiceDesk at Private (undisclosed)
(2018–present)11m ago

I fired an employee, whoalready had a problem with tardiness, after I caught
him sleeping on the job.

A few weeks later I found out that his wife had given birth to twinsseveral
months prior and hewas working two jobs to support his family. That’s why he
wasfrequently late and why I’d caught him sleeping.

Once I learned this I felt badly about letting him go and I considered hiring
him back. Onthe other hand, he could have come in and explained his situation
to me — we’dhad several talks about his tardiness and not once did he mention
twins orworking two jobs — so I felt that the job he had with me just wasn’t
thatimportant to him, so I never contacted him again.

My note-  While I was Asst. engineer, one of my juniorengineer provided a
telephone connection with out authority. I had no other alternative than report
the matter and he wasplaced on suspension.

Later I came to understand he had a deaf and dumb child and for thetreatment he
spend the money obtained. He came and submitted to me with tearsin eyes.

I recollected the officer who has to deal with was the brother of myfield staff
at a place. I called him and asked to help. I asked the juniorengineer to go
and meet him. He went to his brother with him, and he becamelenient and least
punishment was imposed and suspension revoked. Later the junior engineer was
ever “faithful”to me.

Q6         Are there any Vedic referenceswhich state that Lord Shiva can give
moksha?

A6          Gauriputra Shivputra ReadingBhagwat Geeta2h ago

Oho ! Now I got you… you are worhsipping Shiv Ji because you want moksha !
Youare not worshipping him to make him happy. Actually you want 'your
happiness' not yourlord's happiness. The actual[W1]  bhakti means you do bhakti
for your Bhagwan /arâdhya ! Not for your own pleasure.

Moksha is the highest and the best desire but… you should not have thistype of
desire too.. in bhakti marg. If you are in gyaan marg you can wish for moksha
and yourown happiness, but what in bhakti marg ? In prema marga there is only
givinggiving giving. Nothing to.take.

You have to work for your lord, you have to make this sure that - you aredoing
bhakti just to make this sure that…. Shiva is happy. Not for your 'own'
happiness !

You should not worry about you. In bhakti yoga… premmaarg, you don't exist. The
only thing that exists is your Lord !

Don't do bhakti for moksha… don't do bhakti because Shiva is powerful…don't do
bhakti because Shiva is greater than you… do bhakti just to pleaseShiva ! Only
Shiva should be pleased. Never desire anythingfrom him.

A real devotee is like this only. Now final answer is -

Yes he can give moksha.

Q7         How many people think youcan still catch CoVID-19 after receiving
both doses of the vaccine?

A7          Gaja Vasisht Advocate atA Law Firm (1981–present)Thu

The finest or the best examples are our political leaders. Have seen any of
them gettinginfected inspite of their public involvement? The reason is they
were vaccinated.

Our own CM BSY who is 80 years got twice infected after vaccination but walked
out like a hero soon afterhe got quarantined in hospital.

When millions are getting vaccinated and saying that it is better to
getinoculated than without.

Very miniscule numbers have been recorded getting infected but, it may
beignored as stray cases.

Q8         What are the moments inyour life you want to repeat?

A8          Aniket Pandey Master ofcommerce in Marketing & Human Resource
Management, University of Allahabad(Graduated 2019)23h ago

I want my father back in my life. He was everything. He is a reason tosmile, he
is aninspiration. He is the person who can do anything for his children. Heis
the only motivation that kept me to succeed. But I have lost it. I miss him the
most.I missedthose crazy moments, that were spent during the school days. I
want to livethose moments again.

I lose many friends in the journey of life I also want that moment backin my
life. Everyone knows how difficult is to leave your friends.

My father was in the Indian army, so it is a common thingthat I have faced and
many army men children face in their lives.

Maturity gives you more responsibilities, so I also want to becomeimmature
again.

I want to rebuild myself, from the beginning phase of my life.

My note-  I recollect the few months I worked as ateacher.   I dream I would
have those days again. Just like fulfilling the desire I joined thetraining
centre. With new trainees it gave me satisfaction to 70%. But traineeswere
grownups  and not students.

Q9         Does the temperature of asystem change during a change of state?

A9          Indra Kumar, former Senior I.R.S. Officer(retired) at Government of
India (1975-2010) Answered 1h ago

No. But the‘latent heat’ i.e. the heat contained in the material at
sametemperature but in two different states are different.

That is why at the same 100C temperature, steam ishotter than hot water.
Similarly at the same 0 degree C ice is colder than cold water.

Q10       Do arranged marriagesstill work in India?

A10        Sristi Jaiswal DeveloperAssociate at SAP Labs India
(2020–present)38m ago

Yes, it still works. They are like 'sanskari’ (cultured) dating, wherethe
partner is initially chosen by the parents. Now a days, most of the brideand
groom spend time with each other before the wedding to know if they likeeach
other and can go ahead with the relationship. However, in some
backwardfamilies, they simply marry without spending any time but this is
becoming rareday by day.

Since the parents do a lot of research in an arranged marriage, they dowork
quite a lot of times. But of course, there is a bit more risk involvedthan love
marriages as the couple spends lesser time with each other beforemarriage
compared to that spent in love marriages.

Q11       Will a sati go to heavenor hell (Puranas, tantra, heaven, widow,
hell, Hinduism)?

Rami Sivan Priest, Dharma teacher, counsellor, Gov. Advisor(1998–present)May 2

There is no mention of Sati inthe Vedas, but it was a Vedic custom that the
widow lie down beside herhusband’s corpse and then the brother-in-law wouldtake
her hand and raise her up with these words – to return to the world oflife.

The husband’s brother says; “Rise, come unto the world of life O woman:come, he
is lifeless bywhose side you lie. As far as your married life to the one
whoseized your hand and wooed you as a lover is concerned - you have lived it
outcompletely.” R.V. 10:18:8

The much maligned Manu does not mention it at all - so it was obviouslyunknown
during his time.

According Garuda Purāṇa she goes to heaven

2:4:91. One who ascends the pyre and follows up her husband stays inheaven for
a period equal to the number of hair on the body, three and a halfcrore.

According to Mahānirvāṇa Tantra she goes to hell.

Shiva said;– “O Kuleshani, a wife should not be burnt with her deadhusband.

Every woman is your image – you reside concealed in the forms of allwomen in
this world. That woman who, in delusion ascends her husband’s funeralpyre shall
go to hell. M.N.T. 10:79-80

Q13       Do you think you'll livelonger than your grandparents?

A13        My maternal grandmotheris 98 years old. Assomeone who lived in
Mannargudi in the 1920s, she’s seen live sadhir concerts. After a fall 3 years
back, she is bedridden now but her mind is sharp and she canstill figure out if
a singer is off note. So far, she’s lived through the agony of losing 3 sons, a
daughterin law, a son in law and a grand son in law. Her husband has been dead
for 35years. All her siblings are dead.

Do I WANT to live long like my maternal grandmother? No, definitely not. While
Iwould hope to live at least a decade longer than my father who died at 47,
Idon’t want to live into my 90s.

Do I THINK I will outdo my grandparents? My grandparents did not everwant to
live in cities. They spent their lives in quaint old villages. Mypaternal
grandfather lived to read and write. My maternal grandfather lived toread, run,
row and, play every goddamn sport he could find access to. I live ina polluted
city and I don’t have high hopes.

Q14       How do I stay positiveduring tough times?

A14        Ujjwal KantMishraProgrammer Analyst Trainee at Cognizant (company)
(2021–present)53m ago

What you have to do is basically back yourself in every instinct. Because in
the duration of toughtime you have not too much control on what you are
thinking, what you aresupposed to do, what is correct or wrong.

So my suggestion is to do that work which always make you happy. Please avoid
being alone and spendmore and more time with your family.

Answered 3h ago

2020 died on its birthday this year, and many people were happy to seethe back
of it.

2021 is currently enjoying life, but, by most estimations, has about 6months to
live.

1980 lived one day longer than 1979.

They all lived one year. A year always lives one year.

Q16       Does any other languageexcept Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada are
considered as deity in India?

A16        Goutham R Lives in India Thu

Yes, Tulu is also considered asa deity. Tulu is a Dravidian language spoken in
southernregions of coastal Karnataka.

Just like Kannadigas tell KannadaTaayi Bhuvaneshwari, Tuluvas tell Tulu Appe
Toulaveshwari.

I am not sure if there is any temple or not. But Tuluvas do see theirlanguage
like a Goddess.
