Q1            Is there no value of MBBS withoutMD?

A1            KamalPoddar Doctor December 11, 2020

Exam based approach sadly haveruined MBBS. Let me explain

I see so many newly qualified NEETaspirants arguing on Quora that their College
is best based on some parameterslike new buildings or hostel. I am very sorry
to say that they are wrong,

>From the very first day you will be taught“How to pass exam”. Soon everyone
>will be competing for few extramarks thinking that those extra marks will
>translate to better clinicalpractice.

You will be taught “ How to behavein front of examiner”!!

The art to practice medicine hardlyis taught or gets lost in front of exam.

The Coaching industry has becomebig and already installing fear that if you
don’t enroll to their program youmight miss the “NEXT” Bus which supposedly a
clinical based exam.

A performance of MBBS graduate will be ultimately decided by a MCQ based
examwhich hardly has anything to do with real clinical scenario. NEET PG
orINICET all are designed to eliminate students.

Let me explain a patient comingwith Fever and rash can have endless possibility
and to make a correctdiagnosis you must be able to elicit proper history, do an
examination followedby ordering relevant investigation.

In a MCQ based exam the relevant history withinvestigation will already be
given and you just need to pick one correctchoice out of four.

As solving a MCQ which only canhave only four possibility, with all hard work
like eliciting a history andclinical examination already done by the examiner,
such exams can never betruly “CLINICAL”

If you read any answer on Quoraregarding how to read Medicine for final year
student, the answers will solely focus onapproach to Medicine so to pass exam.
This is same for all Medicalcolleges where in wards you will be taught the same.

Passing exam and practicing medicine are completely different aspects.

Now let me tell how MD is different from MBBS and becomes necessary

A Resident is expected to bepresent every morning and must arrive before the
consultant. He is expected totake proper history, examine the patient and based
on findings form provisionaldiagnosis followed by formulating a treatment plan
and doing preliminarytreatment.

All the above mentioned stepspromote active learning where one is required to
Solve real life problems. Duringthe initial phase a naïve resident makes
mistakes in the above mentioned stepsbut learns from them.

Other than that a Resident doesactive follow-up of the patient and observes the
patient for years. This helpsto learn about natural course of disease and how
treatment modalities alter it.

If you compare this to MBBS, themedico comes to ward takes a history followed
by the professor who teach them “ what tospeak in exam”.

The MBBS students hardly participates in patient care hence lackconfidence
regarding treating and solving real life problem.Once the class ends students
never follow up the patient or check treatmentsheet.

Allthis promote the requirement of doing MD. Nowadays I have seenanswers
mentioning heavy internship as a CON as they supposedly hamper your
PGpreparation.

A much better work culture withreduced batch size limited to 50–100 MBBS
student for even big colleges isrequired so those students can at least get
space to stand beside patient andobserve while the professor teaching the
examination.

Q2            What are the advantages anddisadvantages of induction stovetops?

A2            HafeleIndia A One-Stop-Shop For Your Complete Interior Fitting
Solutions June 23

Here are some pros and cons ofinduction cooktops you should know about -

Pros

Induction cooktops heat faster! That's because, with induction, you don’t have
to wait for the heating elementto transfer to the pan. Instead, the pan heats up
directly and super quickly.

They give precise temperaturecontrol. When you turn the Cooking zone off, heat
transfer stops immediately,so there's less of a chance of foods boiling over or
overcooking.

With gas and electric hobs

, lots of heat is lost around theutensils. Induction cooktops, on the other
hand, allow very little heat to belost and are highly energy-efficient!

This type of cooking is safer asthere are no actual flames involved, there is
no gas emitted into the air andthe hot element is never exposed, preventing
fire hazards.

Since an induction stove has a coolcooking surface, it is also very simple to
clean! Look for good models in themarket such as the Hafele Bella 30    ,which
don’t allow spilled food to burn on the hob and make such spills easierto clean
on the spot.

Cons

These cooktops are traditionallymore expensive than gas or electric hobs.
However, investing in a modelby a reputed brand such as Hafele Appliances is a
worthwhile investment forsure as their hobs will last you long.

This type of cooking requires specific 'induction safe' cookware, which contains
iron particles as they activate and create heat when theyinteract with
induction heaters.

Induction hobs scratch easily. However, if you opt for a high-qualityone,
maintain it well, and clean it with manufacturer recommended cleaners- there
may not be any scratching.

My note- The above QA is includedfor information about induction stove, not
promoting the company gave theanswer.

Q3            Does any version of Mahabharatamention Draupadi's oath of not
tying hair and washing it with the blood ofDussasana? If yes, which version?

A3            DivyaSrivastava Read 18 puranas and 2 Epics7h ago

I have read only one authenticversion Of Mahabharata till date and that is the
popular KMG version and it has no mention of anysuch oath. though her hairs are
constantly referred as disheveledbut there is no reference which proofs that
she was not tying her hairs afterthat incident. In factthere is a mention of
her braided hair in the Virat Parva of the Mahabharata.Similarly there is no
mention of her washing hairs with the blood of Dushashan.

Though I am yet t read the BORI CEI am aware enough to know that even that
don’t has any such kind of reference.About rest I do not know

Q4            What are the two most heart breakinginstances of the Mahabharata
which Lord Krishna would have avoided?

A4            Answeredby Joy Ganguli  Thu

My opinion

1. The Kuruchetra war

That was possibly the mostheartbteaking incident of Mahabharata and that would
have avoided the entire.

2.The custody of thousands ofVrishni Women under Arjuna…

He sadly caused all these beingaware of the consequences ( as He was God too).

Replacing water filter paper cartridge mainly depends on the quality ofwater
from bore well, well , corporation/ Muncipality water supply in theoverhead
tank. Most residences have mixed water in the over head tank inChennai.

It also depends on the cleanliness of overhead tank. The replacementperiod also
depends on the quantity of water filtered through the system.

If the overhead tank is cleaned once a quarter, irrespective of water, system is
used about 15 days in a month for a period of about one hour to getfiltered
water , the replacement of cartridge can be once in a quarter.

Aqua guard also suggestsreplacement of cartridge once a quarter.

In older systems customers could take and wash paper cartridges . Soreuse was
possible for another quarter. The filter would appear muddy colourand some
times black /green spots appear on them If water quality is not goodin the
overhead tank.

The normal periodicity of carbon cartridge is once in six months. Thepaper
cartridge should be of quality one.

We are drinking the water filtered and for all domestic use. So
qualitycartridges and periodical cleaning of the overhead tank are must.

In the present Covid 19 period, the water should be used for drinkingafter
boiling and cooling. I hope this answer satisfies the query

My note- This  answer in Quora is by mine  only.

Q6            Why do restaurants never seem tosucceed at delivering a crisp
Masala Dosa to your home? 😔

A6            BhuvanaRameshwar Smart cook, not hardworking Updated 10h ago

They can if the restaurant wasbelow, near or across the road say two mins from
your house. All they have to do is make thedosa and send it to you in a covered
plate like room delivery in hotelsstraight from their restaurants.

But if dosa is delivered from a faroff say 15 minutes travel or more after
packing then it will not be crisp. Itmay be warm though. The same is true for
bharuras and pooris.

That is because the dosa is hot. Potato masala is hot too. So whenpacked after
a fold and wrapped in an oil paper or banana leaf the steam in thedosa and
potato masala rises up. Reaches the end of the package and gets cooledby the
surrounding cool air in the bag, or the swiggy insulated box or theatmospheric
air (if it is just a simple cotton bag you took for carrying theparcel).

Then cooled steam forms waterdrops.

Steam (water vapour) _____whencooled - - gives liquid water

Water drops fall on the crisp dosa. Dosa absorbs water and becomes softand
soggy. End of story of the crisp dosa.

That is why you should order onlythick dosas or Kal dosas or onion oothappams
to be delivered by food deliverypeople .

Thick dosas, kal dosas, set dosas

For crisp plain dosas, masaladosas, butter dosas, ghee roast and rava dosas go
to the restaurants or askyour mother to make them at home.

This crispy masala dosa, will staycrispy very long as the potato masala is kept
in a bowl, not in its belly!

The masala dosa I made today ( 3rdJuly) , for breakfast , crisp and hot.

Better still if you sit on the worktable in the kitchen , chat with your mother
as she makes and thus eatcountless dosas.

Q7            Why do animals have many specieswhile humans only have one
species?

A7            ClaireJordan Worked at National Health Service (NHS)Wed

Because humans build ships and ridehorses (and latterly cars and planes and
trains) which enable them to movearound a lot. This enabled early Homo sapiens
who set out from Africa to makecontact with, and re-absorb, several colonies
left over from earliermigrations, and who were on the cusp of full speciation
but still just barely interfertilewith us - Neanderthals, Denisovans and 3 or 4
similar groups we haven’t namedyet.

These nascent species were absorbedback into the whole, and from then on we
just kept swashing around from placeto place, so that no human population
remained isolated long enough tospeciate.
