Pranam "O King of Asuras! Hear from me the concepts of truth and untruth as expounded by Rikvedis. Satya is truly sacred and it forms the flowers and fruits of the tree itself. But, if the tree itself is felled, there could be no more hope of getting fruits or flowers. One becomes poorer by whatever he parts with, but he would be destitute of everything if he gives away all he has. Charity, ruinous to oneself, should be avoided. Dharma to himself and his progeny should be maintained. Besides, it is said that to utter an untruth in relation to preserving one's livelihood, to save oneself from death, to enthuse and attract a woman in jest, in the cause of marriage and to save holy man or a cow is not condemnable." KR: Vamana avataram and Krishna avataram, made the the God's manifest beg (which is termed as Dhanam) the dhana-yielders Bali and Karnan, to die by themselves, extending their real virtue to give up their life; if so did god cheat them?; Or why would such a measure of showing this world, that even a dhanam , has a restrictions, as spoken about when truth can become a lie too , in the circumstances described?. What is the dharmic way of life? Doing the swadharma with making others happy conditionally or doing the swadharma and splashing the whole and ending in death?. Karma law is one answer; but beyond it, how best to live?. Incidentally, I read a quote in this group, that of all the languages the best language is keeping shut, which is another form of the siddaha " Summayiruthale sugam" (inaction is the best); and today on the Gandhi day, I saw in a news paper where Gandhi quote was printed as: You change first to see how the world you wish to change; in both I find one common thread: Be quite and You change first; of course by doing thus, how the life is assured of the self with the peace and ordinary living conditions?; if one does not answer and ignore, the rest would keep on pounding and there are limits, lest, when the falsity is not denied, it assumes that "THAT" is the truth; and Had I changed with the perfection, while none other did change, the loser is only the changed self; Now from the truth and untruth spoken above , Bali and Karnan should have denied the god's begging and continued; or having abided the extremes shall die keeping quite and changing only one as an exclusive. WHAT DO YOU SAY?. KR IRS 21021
