Gopalakrishnan 9 Mukkanam kayir Thoughliterally the nose rope refers to the rope put for cows and oxen to control them, it is used as part of a sayingin Tamilnadu; a girl is to be worn with a “mukkanam kayir” means she is to bemarried since her flirting is more. 10. Mookkayyan Normallymen do not adorn any ornaments in the nose. But a very few can be seen having asmall golden or silver ring wearing in one nose. This is done after prayer to aGod Mookkayyan, when more abortion occurs and male child do not survive in a family. Afterprayer, when the male child survives, to complete the prayer, the small ring isworn on the base. Sometimes they are named Mookkayyan. Ihad a colleague by name Ayyanan, wearing a small gold ring in one nose. Theinformation is from him. 11 Nose – Purposes Thenose is used for smelling, respiration and taste primarily. Use of nose for taste was notknown to me earlier. On a reading about taste buds and tongue, I couldunderstand the nose too contribute for deciding the taste. Breathingin and breathing out is done using nostrils. 12. Nasyam. Nasyamis application of a liquid ayurvedic medicine through nose for ailments.Whether nasyam or nose drops applied for closed nose, the medicinal effect is felt in themouth also. 13 Wearing spectacles. Unlessnose support is not there one cannot wear spectacles and rest the legs of theframe on the ears for reading. Nowcontact lenses are there, with hand they can be worn in the eye. In fact contactlens is more suitable instead of high power glasses. When there is difference inpower of the two eyes for vision contact lens is better. 14. Pocking the nose. Interferingin another’s matters without any requirement is called pocking the nose. Nobody wants another to pock their nose in personalthings. 15. Kalyana sougandhikam flower Thelegend of Kalyana sougandhikam flower in Mahabharatha is related to sweet smellingof a flower from distance. Droupadai once during Anjathavasa felt of such a fragranceand she desired Bhimasena to get the flower for her. Finally Bhimasena got itwith the help of his brother Aanjaneya. 16. Yogana Gandhi. Thelegend of Matsya Gandhi appears in the beginning of the same epic Mahabharatha. She was smelling fish, and sage Parasaramade her smelling fragrance for a yojana, during his relation ship with her inthe boat while crossing Ganga. He created a fog around the boat. Latershe becomes known as Yojana Gandhi / Sathyavathi, and becomes wife of KingSanthanu, and mother of two male children Chitrangada and Vichitra veerya. Inthe relationship with sage Parasara she bore a son, and he becomes known asVEDAVYASA, the author of the epic itself. Vedavyasa appeared grown up after birth. 17. Nose in sniffing and sneezing. Noseis an excretory part also. When lung problems, cough occur, the part of phlegmcome through nose, part through mouth. Nose gets stiffened, difficulty inbreathing occurs, cleaning is getting warranted. Normally sneezing, closing oneside hole at a time gives better result. Sniffingoccurs due to allergy conditions. Some people are allergic to cold items, sniffing occurs. Not only nose, eyes, mouth also take part in it. Ihave read elsewhere during sniffing, even heart stop momentary and SNIFFING SHOULD NOT BECONTROLLED. Covering themouth is sufficient. Inducedsniffing occurs while taking snuff inhaling the same. Evenfor a person due to blood transfusion or even by platelets transfusion, if theoriginal person DONATED BLOOD had sniffing, the transfused person may get itafter transfusion. 18 Inhalers. Forcomfort of the nose some people use inhaler during cold etc. Habitually itshould not be practiced. Duringsmoking also, the intake smoke from cigarette etc after a time comes throughnose. A part also goes inside the body and affects lungs in course of time. 19. Mookinu thaze romam (Growth of tiny hairs)below nose in the lips Thegrowth of tiny hairs visibly below the nose and growing is the indication ofmaturity in male children. For females, still tiny growth of hairs occursduring maturity, but do not grow and fall down. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
