KAI (HAND) Dearfriends,
Todaymy posting is about hand- We have two hands. By nature either the left hand orright hand gets more used from infant stage. While growing up and seeing this featurewe call a person either as left handed or right handed. Manyoccasions like driving, cutting trees and logs, washing and squeezing clothes, closingor opening of doors, using computer key board etc we use both hands equally. Thoughboth the hands have equal strength and capacity for certain applications likewriting, eating food etc, graduallydevelops in to right hand and used forinstant applications like extending hand, blowing or hitting a person etc. Sometimes the other hand comes for partial help. A nail can be fixed onwall using both hands only. Forserving food, perform aarathi in temple etc we appreciate more the use of righthand. However here too left hand comes for help for holding the vessels, andholding bell during aarathi etc. Thoughmost people are right handed a good percentage are left handed also. Some lefthanded people might write with left hand, but many left handed people might writeonly with right hand or sometimes with both hands. Let me go more in to hands. If a person has defective left or right hand, it is found the other handbecomes strengthen. Sincerely, Gopala Krishnan 13-12-2011 Fully edited and postedon 30-0-201.R. The noted specialityof the palm is hairs do not grow on the palm. Throughoutthe human body hair grows. We can see them microscopically. More thick, lengthy hair grows on head. Ongetting adolescence visible hair grows on face, chest, underarms and pubic areafor males. For females the visible hair on face and chest are not there. Inthe palm we can see specific lines, though appear similar with most persons, but with variation from one to another. A study of the lines and nature and forecastabout the person is called Palmistry. 1a. Kainottam Palmistryis called Hastha rekha sasthram in Malayalam and colloquial Malayalam asKainottam. There is a special community women specialised in reading the handscalled Kuratthi. We can see these kuratthies more in hill areas and nearbyplaces, though not so common in cities. They look in to palm and talk of pastoccurred, present and future. 2. Six fingers Mosthave five fingers and rarely we might see people with six fingers in the palmas well as in legs. I have seen people with six fingers; it appeared as smalladditional growth. Ifwe just hurt a finger, we can observe its effect in all fingers while workingtill such time it is cured. 3. The hand and finger print Theprint of the hand is called hand print and of the fingers is called fingerprint. We can see hand prints made ondoors and walls in some homes as a sign of auspiciousness. The finger print istaken in addition to signature for important documentation like registrationdeeds etc. One person’s finger print will not be similar to another. Fingerprint is taken now for issue of pass port and aadhar card. Aadhar card has becomethe more popular identity in India. Voter ID and Passport are shown rarely foridentity. 4. Keeping at an arm distance Itis a saying in Malayalam. Normally till such time we know well about another’snature, keeping at a distance is common, specially with staff, workers, many timeswith new friendships. Closeness or further keeping away would be done afterobservation. Knowing very well of it, some behave very nicely even for yearsand then show their true colour. 5. Oru chhan vayarinu vendi (For thesake of one chhaan stomach) Thisis another saying in Malayalam. Unless we feel hungry in the stomach whichmeasures one chhaan (distance between thumb and little finger when palm iselongated) the humans would never be as we are today. If there is no hunger, noquestion of working for getting food or making food. Only a shelter and afemale companion after maturity for sex. He may desire some comfortableshelters. For that man need not work this much. However there would be quarrelsto get the beautiful companions. 5a. Devas and hunger Ihave read elsewhere that Devas and higher beings have less hunger and as suchvery less food and they lead a splendid life. As status of Deva increase, the need of food becomes very less 6. Do right hand is superior to lefthand? Mostlythe hands work together, one takes the lead another assists. One andalone could do very limited things. We habituate to do certain things with lefthand and certain with right hand. Normally we take food with right hand andleft hand is used for drinking water in between. Sincewe apply left hand for washing after passing stools, it isfelt for hygiene use. But with modern health/hand wash, it replaces the use ofpalms for washing after passing out stools. Nowboth palms and hands are equal is the correct statement. 7. What right hand do, left hand shouldnot know. Thisis a saying having a different meaning than the exact words mean. The helprendered by one should not be known to another. It should be done with somemuch privacy. But 99% wanted to show to people their charities. If a choultryis built it is named after the person donated money for it. Humans alwaysdesire fame. 8. Hand as a measure Handfull or both hands full are considered as a measure specially while offeringsare made to the deities. The forearm with Palm extended is considered as ameasure called Muzham. 9. Hands for communication Clappingis very often used as a method of communication rather than calling when aperson is at a distance. Thesound produced and sign is more communicating. The primitive man hadvery often used hands as communicating language. Just by showing the hand thedirections and ways are shown by us. Hands automatically come in to actionduring communication. We cannot stop it. On account it probably showing handstraight is considered as a signal to stop a vehicle by drivers. 10. Kaiyyooku ullavan kariakkaran Theperson who has strength in hands or rather physical strength is always theleader. The saying means to say the importance of physical strength to aperson. However now money too plays an important part. 11. Kai Jnondi (Hand incapacited) Ihave specifically added this point also in this posting. Generally it is found,if one organ of a pair is defective, the other will be having more strength andcapacity which is A GIFT OF GOD. This is special with hand. With lesser support of the affected hand, most such persons manage things with the other hand effectively. In fact todayseeing the most effective working with slightly affected polio in palm by anofficer has made me to write on hand today. In fact one cousin brother in lawwith polio affected left hand taught me to ride cycle in myboyhood days. 12. Kaikadathal (Interfering) Interferingin other’s matter or unwanted matters and occasions are told as Kaikadathal. Itis a very bad nature. 12a. Full sleeve shirt and half sleeveshirt. Theshirt we wear is designated either full sleeve or half sleeve depend on thecoverage of hand. See how we give importance to our hands. Nowadays many youngwomen wear shirts and pants. Invariably in police and transport departmentwomen wear pants and shirts. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
