Q1         What food do flight attendants eatSpecifically, during a flight, do
flight attendants eat the same meals thatpassengers eat? Are there in-flight
meals allotted to them, but many choose notto eat them, and eat their own food
instead?

A1          Shikhar Gupta   Updated 4y

I was on a Qatar Airways flightfrom Doha, Qatar to Algiers, Algeria. It was a
long haul flight.

My flight attendent was an Indianmiss. It was almost impossible to find Indians
on the mentioned route.

When my mom took out our homemadelunch(because they didn't serve Indian food),
she came to us and didn't allow us to eat our food.

She did her best to cookaccording to our requirements (it was business class),
she provided the bestservice we could expect. Also, she was apologetical
because of the food given.Extremely humble and helpful miss.

We thanked her a lot for herrepeated efforts to give us good service, and at
last she asked us a favour.

She requested the homemade food we brought. I guess shewas craving real bad for
some homemade Indian food.

So, yesflight attendants do also eat homemade food offered by passengers on
board. :)

Yes, we gave everything. She wasvery happy and excited at the end.

Q2         I’m moving into a place where all theneighbors to the sides of me
have full fenced in yards. Can I tie on to theirfence to fence my yard, or do I
need to install an entirely new fence?

A2         Tori Moore, 60 years of experience Answered 17m ago

Be careful, that fence belongs to them. It is on theirproperty. The best thing
to do is ask!!

My note- Ihad the problem of dogs  which came innight crossing neighbour’s low
built compound wall. To provide fencingat my cost I requested their permission.
They fully agreed and asked what wasthe cost after completion. I said it  wasmy
requirement. Knowing the amount spent, they shared 50%.

Q3         Are there any vegetables/edible plantsthat are incredibly easy to
grow/carefree?

A3         AishwaryaKher Lives in California (2020–present)Oct 15

Mint is one example.

When we moved into our house, there was absolutely no sign of a mint plant in
the garden. Within weeks wenoticed a mint farm in full swing, very much like
the one shown above (x 4times). Thanks to the insects for pollinating it.

We do not even need to water themevery single day. You don’t need gardening
skills to maintain it. My mintgarden is a blessing and I use it very often in
tea and chutneys.

The rate in stores is somethinglike $4/oz. No, thank you!

Q4         Does apple cider vinegar has anydocumented health benefits?

A4         LuciaGarcia Fri

Apple cider vinegar is a healthy drink made fromapple fermentation that has the
effects of detoxification, fat reduction, andweight loss. It isregarded as one
of the best health drinks today.

Apple cider vinegar is rich inpectin, vitamin C, malic acid, acetic acid,
lactic acid, citric acid, tartaricacid, as well as iron, potassium, sodium,
silicon, magnesium and otheressential nutrients for the human body.

Apple cider vinegar contains a lot of pectin. Pectincan directly act on the
gastrointestinal tract and combine with fat in food toprevent the absorption of
fat in the gastrointestinal tract, thus achieving the effect ofweight loss.

A Japanese study on adult obesepatients showed that apple cider vinegar can
significantly reduce body fat, lower cholesterol and triglycerides.

The researchers asked 155 obeseJapanese adults to consume 15 milliliters of
apple cider vinegar (about onetablespoon) daily and record their weight, fat
mass, cholesterol andtriglycerides. It turns out that all three indicators of
these people have beenreduced.

In addition, pectin will absorbwater and expand after entering the body,
increasing its volume by about 10times, which can increase satiety, reduce
appetite, and reduce the risk ofobesity.

Q5         HVAC: Why are air conditioners used inATMs?

A5         3 AnswersAromal S, I love the things that move, make noise, can be
touched andfelt..!Updated Jun 3, 2019

There are mostly two Air-Conditioners in ATMcenters of India.

Additional one is used as standby and bothmachines are used alternately..!!

ATM machines work 24X7 and themajor reason for using such a serious set up of
two Air-Conditioners is to ensure cooling for the ATMmachine itself..!!

Keeping people cool is not thepriority..!!!

If then in most placesAir-Conditioners will be switched off in the night time
and thus only one A/Cwill required for an ATM center!!

2ND ANSWER Kavinesh Ellaikkannu , 6+ years asHVAC Engineer Sufia Siddiqui, Phd

ATM machines have heat generating electronic componentsinside it which need to
ventilated / cooled to increase the life span ofthese components, this is the
reason AC's are being used in ATM's

***However development in electronicshas lead to new generation ATM machines
which can function even at highertemperatures of 40 -45 deg C

PS: Some ATM's have free coolingtechnology which use outside air to remove the
heat from ATM machines. Thisdepends on the ambient temperature also.

3RD ANSWER-Barry Hawse , HVAC Service ManagerAnswered Aug 26, 2015

Two reasons-

1 they wantthe people to be cool when using the machine.

2. They want to remove the heatfrom the space that is created by the computer
equipment inside the bankmachine.

***My note-It is a new information. I amhaving near by SBI ATM mostly working
with out Air condition and not very hightemperature inside.

Q6         Why does Bengaluru look richer thanChennai?

A6         ShashankUpdated Fri

Chennai benefitted in 1960s dueto metropolitan City status and other south
Indian cities were not as urban asChennai due to historically British Port and
now being Only metropolitan cityin South India, lot ofgovernment institutions
or PSUS made Chennai hub for their south indianoperations.

This all changed in 1990s as Bangaloreemerged as new age City with cool climate
and tolerant of migranttongues, these both things are hot and humid in Chennai.

So Yes Bangalore with new contributionswill look better than Chennai Anyday.

North Indians prefer Bangaloreand all Indians are preferring Bangalore.

But one thing youneed to understand without IT industries, Bangalore becomes
small retirementParadise.

But Chennaiwithout IT industries is still big metropolitan city as it has lot
ofindustrial units and port.

Migrants need to learn Tamil andweather is unforgiving.

So Yes Banglore looks richer andmore modern than Chennai but as you all know
but Bangalore is overdepended on IT industries forgrowth.

Karnataka leader's apart from SMkrishna are jokers who don't have even 1 paisa
of vision what Tamilnadu Leadershave.

I agree Bangalore is more open, tolerant of outsiders than Chennai people,
people don't need to speak kannnada, they can peacefully talk in Hindi and no
eye brows will be raised.

Bangalore is more cosmopolitan than Chennai and Chennaipeople will look
slightly arrogant of their language to outsiders butsame can be said of South
Indians when they face north Indians hindi so can'tblame Tamils here, will
north Indians learn Tamil in their states, no rightthat will be unfair.

So yes Karnataka leader's becamericher in IT boom via corruption but that
didn't helped the state, Bangalore isonly helping filling coffers for state but
the development is not spreading toother regions resulting in corrupt Karnataka
leader's who are rich andBangalore's which is pathetic in infrastructure and
laced with corruption

Chennai is better with reasonable amount of rates forpublic commute,
infrastructure will put Bangalore to Shame and plusTamil Nadu other regions
also get industries and Chennai act as a gateway tomore investments in Tamil
Nadu.

So Yes Bangalore leaders arericher and migrants pay very costly for city basic
civic amenities whileChennai looks old and traditional but citizens pays
affordable rates for civicamenities.

Q7          is the best time to eat orange?

A7         LuciaGarcia Wed

Before breakfast is the best time to eat oranges.

Before breakfast is the time whennutrition is most needed, but the
gastrointestinal function of the body has notbeen fully activated.

At this time, eating oranges can not only supplement thenutrients the body
needs, but also activate the gastrointestinalfunction from the organic acids of
oranges.

Oranges are rich in citric acid, malic acid, succinic acid and other organic
acids. These organic acids canpromote gastrointestinal peristalsis, enhance
metabolism, and are verybeneficial to the health of the gastrointestinal tract.

The content of vitamin C andcarotene in oranges is particularly high, and its
content is more than 10 timeshigher than that of ordinary fruits.

Vitamin C and carotene can softenblood vessels, increase blood vessel
elasticity and toughness, and contributeto the health of heart and brain blood
vessels.

In addition, oranges containpotassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, iron,
manganese, zinc, copper, phosphorus, selenium and many other minerals needed by
the body.

Q8         How can I save oil after using it tofry food?

A8         MartinBayer Oct 24

First let it cool to roomtemperature. You don’t want to mess around with hot
oil. It can really causeyou pain.

Once the oil is cool, strain it through a fine meshstrainer and discard any
bits you catch inside. Put a lid on the oiland store it wherever you store your
oil. Next time you fry, use it first.

You can use fryer oil a few timeswithout any problems. Oil will pick up the
flavor and odor of the foods youcook in it though, and impart them onto other
foods. So if the oil smells likewhatever you cooked in it last, get yourself
some fresh oil.

The same if its color is dark.Stick a tines of a fork about 1″ into your oil.
If you can’t see the tines ofthe fork, throw the oil away.

Q9         What kind of fruits can you find in thewild?

A9         Journeyinto the Wild Answered by Victoria Ng Oct 20

Where I live in the Western Canada, wild apple trees areeverywhere. One of many
fruits available for picking if you can findthem. Blackberries, cherry, prunes
and Apple trees were planted in many regionsby the early settlers. Manyare now
overgrown field and forested. They are left for the birds and wildlifeto eat.

But when you walk by these treesyou can smell the floral fragrance of the
apple. There are different varietiesI have seen. The green apple granny smith,
mcintosh types and the cooking Gladeapple. Not the greatest eating, but good
for jam and jellies or pies.

Q10       What is your favorite fruit?

A10       Let us walktogetherAnswered byVictoria NgOct 12

I love all fruits, but if I haveto choose 1 as a favorite, I would choose the
king of fruits TheDurian fruit. Fragrantis individual preference, but I love
it. They are sweet and custardy and I loveeating them fresh or semi frozen.
Heck after eating the fruit you will have todispose of the spiky shell safely.
You don’t want to trip or hurt anyone orbonk them on the head with this! Not
teaching anyone to do this, but if youever stand next to a durian tree, you
will know what I mean? These things hurt, but oh so good. It is all time
favorite. I could eat this fruit regularly and not get sick of it.

My note- It’s Malayalam translation is olam. Itappears like small jackfruit.

Q11       Will Coimbatore ever become the bestcity, overtaking cities like
Bangalore and Chennai in the near future?

A11       Shashank Tue

Chennai is fighting Bangalore,Hyderabad and Pune for investments, competition
is very cut throat these daysas all South Indian states except Kerela are
welcoming industries and givingthem incentives.

So Coimbatore can't become like Bangalore or Chennaiunless there is a separate
State carved out of Tamil Nadu withCoimbatore as capital till then Chennai will
get all attention for investments.

There was a demand for kongu Nadulongtime back so if that happens then there
are full chances maybe in 15 yrs ofthat.

My note- Coimbatore is a industrial city for differenttypes of machinaries and
textiles

Q12       Why do hippos like to live in water whenthese animals are known not
to be good at swimming?

A12       2 AnswersChris Corsi , former Science Teacher (1999-2021)Answered 29m
ago

You’re quite mistaken, hippos are excellent swimmer, very buoyant, able to hold
their breath for up to five minutes, and withfeatures (like their protruding
nostrils) specifically made for long soaks inwater. To be fair, they don’t live
in deep water, so they aren’t swimmers likefish, and often hop/run along the
bottom.

2nd answer-Steve Horton, former Hunter,outdoorsman, contractor, martial
artistAnswered 20m ago

They are excellent swimmers. Go to a zoo that hasa window into the hippo tank.
They actually become graceful in the water.
