Q1 Whydo the fins not close in the air conditioner when we switch off the unit? A1 2Answers Danny Nama, studied MechanicalEngineering & Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning at JawaharlalNehru Technological…Answered Jun 15, 2019 Fins are somethingthat comes along with coil But if you arereferring to AC flaps. Then the there are two possible reasons for flaps notclosing 1. Swing motor isfaulty/not working 2. broken flap 2nd answer-Naryana Balaji , Vetti Officer @Vetti company.Answered Jun 15, 2019 I am assuming thefins(or flaps) are working when the unit is ON. During normal operation it mustwork, that is swinging up and down. It means there is no fault with motor. While switching off the unit, do notturn off main switch on the wall. Use your remote turn off the indoor unit.Wait for few seconds as theflaps win close completely. Then cut off the main switch on thewall. This should do it. If not then there might be issue in circuit board(where it is programmed to close the flap). Check with manufacturer if warrantyis still there. Q2 Whyis there water in a toilet that stays in the toilet hole and doesn't fall intothe central septic tank? A2 SangramSagar Fri Both squatting andsitting toilets have eternal water that does not run out even in the dryseason. It turns out that this is due to the design of thetoilet which is like a swan's neck but upside down. Thus, even if the gold floats in the hole and is then splashed with water, the goldwill go to the septic tank smoothly and the old water will be replaced withnewer water. Q3 Ieat at least 4 cloves of garlic a day. Is that too much? A3 Lucia Garcia Sun Garlic containsmany nutrients that are beneficial to health, the most important of which isallicin. Allicin has a strong bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect. Garlic containsabout 2% allicin, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. A clove of rawgarlic weighs about 3 grams to 5 grams. The World Health Organization recommends 2 grams to 5 gramsof raw garlic daily. Eating raw garlicis the best way to eat garlic, because allicin compounds are destroyed duringthe cooking process. Q4 Howdoes the air purifier in an air conditioner work? Q5 Which is your favorite railway stationin India? A5 Shaunak Bhattachharje Lives inKolkata, West Bengal, India (1996–present)Sun My favouriterailway station in India is one that I haven't been to yet but I saw a fewpictures of it on the internet and then my cousin sister shared a few clicks atthis railway station which made me fall in love with this one. I have only visitedthe North East once, that too by flight which is why I never got a chance tovisit this station by myself but if there are some plans to travel to Guwahatiin future, I might take the train. Even though it will be time consuming, I willmake sure to get down briefly at the New Haflong station to see the beautiful landscape of thisplace on my way. Located at thefoothills of the mighty Himalayas, the picturesque scenery at this railwaystation is unparalleled to any that you might have seen. The station is a smallone but many long distancetrains make a brief halt and a lot of passengers get down during this time justto click photos of this stationz. You get to see the beautifulmountains that do not appear too far away. I believe if Haflong can be developed, it can become thenext Darjeeling or Gangtok. The road towards the town from the station is miserable. My sister got down from the train to see what the beautiful hamlet has to offerbut was disappointed with the condition of the road. So, the station is theonly good thing that New Haflong has to offer and it is on my bucket list tospend at least two minutes on this platform, click pictures and take back withme, memories for a lifetime. Q7 Whatis the importance of the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai? A7 RabiDash Sun SRK visitedyesterday. I lived in South Mumbai for about 5 years. We were regulars at SidhiVinayak temple. It is popularand the trust is one of the wealthiest. The deity, carved out of asingle black stone is beautifully decorated with lovely flowers and adornments. Bollywood celebrities frequent the place. They aregiven pride of place and access due to their celebrity status and also becausethey donate generously. Usually a trustee remains in attendance. Such visitsget wide publicity. Amitabh Bachan andhis family members used to walk down from their home to temple, quite a gooddistance. This was originallya small brick temple and people would pray for child before the Lord. We usedto love the sweet Prasad, 21 Modaks and laddoos. S R Khan’s visit to temple must have enriched him and alsothe temple. Q8 Whywould a light flicker even when it is turned off? A8 3Answers Scott Welch, Electricity is my friend.Wiring since I was 4.Updated 12h ago Because it is anLED controlled by a solid-state switch. The leakage current through the switch is just enough togradually charge the power supply. When the power supply is charged, the LED will light, discharging the power supply, and the cycle will startagain. I had this exactproblem with a Honeywell time switch. Replace one of the LED bulbs with anincandescent and the problem will disappear. 2ND ANSWER-Dave Muller, Self taught electricalengineerAnswered 13h ago I agree with ScottWelch’s answer, that the leakagecurrent through a solid state switch or dimmer is enough for the LED to slowlycharge, then periodically discharge with a tiny flicker of light. I have 6 LED lightson a dimmer in my basement. Even though they are “dimmer compatible”, theystill flicker when turned off. I replaced one of the lights with a low wattage incandescent, and all ofthem stopped flickering. This can alsohappen in an older house with older wiring. It was common to run a cabledirectly from the fuse box to the light fixture, then run another cable fromthe fixture to the light switch. Even with the switch turned off, some current will flow through thecircuit, because the cable to the light switch acts like a capacitor.Enough current can pass through to “tingle” a person changing a light bulb, andmay cause them to fall off of a ladder. So it is no longer allowed to do thisin the wiring codes. Now,the wire must go from the fuse box to the switch, and then from the switch tothe fixture. So if you have anold mechanical switch, and your LED light flickers, it is probably because your house is wired the oldway. 3RDANSWER-Tony Fisher, former Software Engineer Answered 11m ago There was a reportthat a CFL lamp was seen to be flashing repeatedly (but dimly) while switchedoff. This was eventuallyfound to be a reaction to the Radar scanning beam from a nearby airport. Q9 Onequestion that always comes to my mind is, why was it only dinosaurs that wentextinct when the asteroids hit? Or were they the only living things back then? A9 ClaireJordan Oct 24 Nearly all animalswent extinct at the KT boundary, not just non-avian dinosaurs. Plant life died back to dormantseeds and bulbs for years, because there was almost no sunlight. Onland, only small animals such as insects that could live on dead wood andfungi, and the only slightly bigger animals that could live on insects, survived. Crocodiles survived because although the adults are big, their babies are small andslow-growing and could not live oninsects, and on fish that lived on insects, for the years it took forthe sky to clear and seeds to begin to germinate again. Nearly all animals went extinct atthe KT boundary, not just non-avian dinosaurs. Q10 Wouldhumans have evolved successfully without eating meat? A10 Ákos Németh Read many thing Oct 24 Improbable. Most vegan make themistake, that they calculate with current, domesticated plants, which containsmuch more protein, starch and other nutrients than the wild, original ones. Banana:Corn(original on the left)Potato According paleonthology, the human brain size startedits unique growth when a group of primate started to eat meat. Brain is a highconsumption organ, it require much more energy than we can gather from wildplant versions. We evolved eating whatever we could gather and barelysurvived on it. There was a serious bottleneckin our history, where we was at the brink of extinction. Our genes order usto store energy whatever possible and drop energy consuming muscles when notused. This show that wehunger a lot, even eating meat and plants. Only eating plants….We probablywouldn’t made it. There is an answergiving the gorilla as example. What the poster do not mention, that if thegorilla would have even 1 billion more brain cell, it would require to spendthe whole day chewing instead of the current 80%.The brain of a gorilla isquarter of the human brain… My note- There are different views on the topic Q11 Isit possible that dinosaurs could have survived to this day alongside humans ifthere wasn't a meteor strike millions of years ago? A11 MatsAndersson B. Sc, M. Sc from Uppsala University Oct 25 “Survive to thisday”—yes. They even did, in the form of birds. “Alongsidehumans”—not realistically. Had the dinosaurs stayed on, mammals wouldn’t havehad the explosion in diversity; they’d have stayed small non-specialists.“Alongside rats” are a more realistic scenario. This doesn’t meanthe idea has never been had: Harry Harrison’s West of Eden SF trilogy exploressuch a scenario, wheremammals are dominant in North America and the descendants of dinosaurs in therest of the world. It’s based on theunderstanding of the early 1980s, but he did work hard on the world-buildingand it’s a fascinating read. Q12 Doesa leaking water pump need to be replaced? 2 Answers Naresh Kumar, Maintenanceengineer,Affiliate marketerAnswered Sat First analyzesituation and then make decision Water Pump partssuch as 1.Casing2.CasingGasket3.Impeller4.Mechanical Seal5.Rotor6.Winding 1.Casing has inletand outlet line.if it leak occur here .Just tight and arrest the leaks One more solutionis use new gasket and then tight casing Its is not bigissue. If it isn’t arrest the leaks and leads to corrosion of metal bolts andnuts, 2.Leaks occurs onmechanical seal which is between the motor shaft and casing you should changethe mechanical seal, not a motor. It helps to pumps the water from low level tohigh level Suppose Rotor iscorroded or damaged .leaks occur, so you should change the motor not a rotor. 2nd answer-Gopala Krishnan, former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at Department of Telecom (1966-2004) Answered justnow What I haveexperienced is -Leaking can occur due to washers in the pump. Leaking can occurdue to inlet and outlet water pipe cracks. Airlock screws are not tight. All the above QA are based onQuora QA on 02-10- 2021.
