Q2         Since manyhumans have DNA from Neanderthals, do we also have DNA
from other humanspecies?

A2         Claire Jordan       Degree in biology and folklore; programmer, shop
owner,secretary on newspaper Sun

Yes. A lot of people have Denisovan genes, especially inAsia and Australasia.
Some groups show signs of havingbred back to surviving Homo erectus, long after
first separating from them, andthere are also several sets of genes which crop
up in the modern human genomeand which have come from “ghostgroups” - species
or sub-species we haven’t named because we knownothing about them except for
this influx of genes.

Basically all humans are mutts, aside from a few pureHomo sapiens in central
Africa.

The following are some most important tips :-

Control switch ofthe heater should be outside. 2. Heater must be installed well
above hand reachand visible. 3. Inlet of water should be through a ball valve
close to it. Thismight help technician to stop water in to heater for changing
coil, cleaning etc.4. Periodical checking of heating coil and replacement must
be done. 5 Makesure outside switch is put OFF before entering bathroom. 6.Make
sure the tapsof cold water and hot water are perfect. If hot water tap is not
closing it isbest to come outside and take bath in another bathroom and call
technician toclose the hot water tap. One may control water inlet to the
bathrooms fromoutside valve.

Q4         What is therelation between Lord Ganesha and Maa Laxmiji?

A4          Ramadevi Gidugu ·  Former Self Employed, Full Time Mother. Mon

I write what I wastold by some sanskritscholars.

Generally we don'tsee goddess lakshmi and lord ganapati alone we also see
goddess Saraswati alongwith them. These three are worshipped together.

Lakshmi isassociated with all the prosperity including materialistic wealth,
she stayswith humans in 8 forms.

Money, strength, education, food, children, achievement (success), bravery (
confidence) health etc.

All these forms of lakshmi are most fickle minded. Itmeans they can come and go
as water in the coconut.

These are forms ofthe success in life. It's not easy to catch and retain Goddess
lakshmi at oneplace.

It means, onceachieved, these forms of Goddess lakshmi can easily make anyone
feel egoistic.Proud. Ego and proudness make everything vanish in minutes. That
will be thefirst step of disaster.

So, to retain her with us what we should do?

We should have realknowledge. Buddhi, jnanam, vichackshana,( wisdom ,
knowledge, analytical power)how these things come? With education, learning.
Who is goddess of this education, learning, knowledge ?Maa sarswati.

In the learningprocess we may face lot of distractions, temptations,
attractions, we may not concentrate properly sometimeswhile acquiring real
knowledge. To remove those obstacles, we pray to lordGanesha. He is the
obstacles remover.

With his blessings, without any hurdles we earn knowledge. Means buddhi and
siddhi. Wisdom andunderstanding. Finally analytical power.
Now, the relationbetween these three is,
Knowledge, education, ( Goddess Saraswati) gives a person wisdom , knowledge,
analyticalbrain.

Then he can removehis hurdles with the blessings of lord Ganesha.

Then Only it'spossible to achieve and retain prosperity. Any success in life.
Earning anyWealth.

So, in Pujaespecially on Deepawali day these three forms of God are worshipped.

He is a connectingbridge between Maa saraswati and Maa lakshmi.

If you assume theyare like humans, you can call them as aunts and their nephew.

Many think, ‘Suklambharadharam’ slok is for lord Vishnu but it's not. It's for
lord Ganesha.

Q5         Whathappened to the refund of LPG subsidy that needs to come to the
consumers? Whydo people do not receive it even when the prices are almost
touching 1000 Rsper cylinder?

A5          Siva Kumar Bachoti  Former Software Quality Assurance ManagerNov 2

A government thatmakes it its business to hike prices almost everyday, will
they give subsidiestoo? Well, they do. But not to everyone, only to Ujjwala
scheme beneficiaries. And thesebeneficiaries are least interested in using LPG.

The Ujjwala schemecase study- everyone, only to Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries.
And thesebeneficiaries are least interested in using LPG.

The Ujjwala schemecase study

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)

7.2 Cr connectionshave been given under this scheme since launched in 2016.

Claims success withalmost 98% coverage.

The latest NationalFamily Health Survey reveals that the usage of LPG cylinders
remains low.

Latest governmentsurvey of 22 states (Jan ‘21) discovered that In these 5
years, there is only a20% increase in the overall usage of LPG.

This means, households that have the connection, may notbe using them regularly.

Around 44.5% ofrural households still use firewood, chips and crop residue for
the cookingpurposes. Another 5.5% of rural households still rely on dung cake
to preparetheir meal, (The Scroll)

Many households use both the LPG as well as other fuelsfor cooking purposes.

Whythe Ujjwala scheme is not successful?

(Source: TheScroll)

As you can see, thescheme could have been more successful

Majority ofhouseholds in the country, particularly in the rural areas rely on
firewood, chips, crop residue and dung cake as cooking fuel as these are
available to them almost free ofcost.

Under the direct benefit transfer system, people have toget the refill cylinder
at full price first and then a subsidy amount comesinto their bank account
later. It is a bigchallenge for poor families to refill the LPG cylinder at
full cost.

About 220 millionIndians earn less than Rs 32 a day. Around 44 million families
live under lessthan Rs. 4,800 a month. For such families, the cost of the
refill is indeedunaffordably high.

What the reportsdon’t say, reliablesupply could be a serious problem
particularly in mountainous areas (see theplot).

The Modi governmentlaunched the “Ujwala” scheme with great fanfare, all BJP men
canvassed it as agreat idea of Modi.

Withever-increasing LPG cylinder prices, Modi is only defeating his own
Ujjwalascheme.

Can any one deny this fact?        Most beneficiariesuse the first cylinder
that comes free with the connection and then revert totheir usual wood-burning
stove.

My note- I have added the QA forinformation about Ujwala scheme. I get a small
about of Rs 25-00 in my account as subsidy, where asI pay about 918-00 for the
cylinder  First cylinder is given free under Ujwalascheme every financial year
I think. The comments are by the personanswered the question. But there are
facts in it.

Q6         How and what happens if a human falls inapool filled with mercury?

A6          Steve BakerBlogger atLetsRunWithIt.com (2013–present)Sun

Well, Mercury isinsanely heavy - so you’dfloat VERY easily.

When you climbedout of the pool, you wouldn’t be wet - because Mercury has a
really strongsurface tension.

Mercury dissolves awide range of metals (not including iron) so if you were
wearing jewelry - itcould possibly be dissolved - slowly.

Aside from that - the biggest issue is toxicity.

Mercury vapor isnasty - and although absorbtion through your skin is slow - if
you inhaled orswallowed any of the liquid, it would be very bad. Mercury
damagesbrain, lungs and kidneys.

Worst ofall - there is really no effective treatment for mercury poisoning.

My note-Apool of mercury is impossible. Falling on it, the person may get
injured.Mercury might enter body and it is fatal.

To tell the true fact we students were not so muchinformed while performing
experiments with mercury in the lab

Q7         Why is itthat Panama is the only place in the world where you can
see the sun rise onthe Pacific and set on the Atlantic?

A7         Jeff Karpinski       Former math prof and software developer,
permanentfact-geekNov 15

Because of thislittle wiggle called the Isthmus of Panama, where the "tail"
ofCentral America joins the northern part of South America:

That cool-looking sinusoidal bend means that over acomparatively small area,
the Pacific Ocean is actually to the EAST of theAtlantic Ocean. It's the only
place on earth where twocontinents connect with a bend like that.

If you look at amap you can find other interesting anomalies, although most of
them involvepolitical rather than geographic alignments. For example the cities
of WindsorON and Detroit MI are located near a place where Canadian territory
lies southof US territory. Also, for historical reasons there's a small chunk
of Russia, the Kaliningrad region, that's entirely inside the EU!

Q8         How haveyou benefited from waking up at 5 am daily?

A8          Anubhav Jain Written 3 books on Life, living and motivation.Updated
Nov 15

I wake up around 5am each day, and I have set an alarm of 5.10 as a threshold
to get up.

I have no problem in sleeping at night, whenever I amfree, I lie down and
instantly fall asleep.

I go for a longwalk in the morning, return, have tea, pen down my thoughts and
feelings, andit's still not 8 am. Lot of time at disposal to live my routine.

It helps inmaintaining a great routine, I eat my lunch early and dinner by 7,
which givesmy body enough gap between sleep to digest the food and also helps
inmaintaining the natural cycle.

The positivity andaura of dawn is unbelievable, a gift of nature to us living
beings, the freshair (Not these days), chirping of birds, peace, silence, is
wonderful and helpsto have a great start to the day.

It's that time of the day when most of world is asleep, and you get adequate
time to connect with yourself and your life, to analyze mylife, togenerate
fresh ideas out of fresh mind. The routine interactions and tensionsare still a
few hours away. Also there isn't much urgency so I can plan my dayahead.

Q9         Is it safeto have a 14 gauge wire on a circuit protected by a 30 amp

What does your code book say?

if you do t knowhow to answer that question, contact a “real” electrician and
hire them to dowhat they are trained to do. The codes provide protection from
fires andelectrocution, it iswise, as well as required, to abide by them.

2ND ANSWER- Charles Grierson, former AutoMechanic, Soldier, Forester and
Professor.Answered 43m ago

No, 14 gage wire uses a 15 amp breaker.A 30 amp breaker will allow twice the
current a 14 gage wire can handle and canoverheat the wire - firehazard.

Q11              Whydo some people travel in 1A (first class) train instead of
taking a flight, which has almost same or slightly more fare?

A11      Shaunak Bhattacharjeee Traveller | Software Engineer | Videographer
|FoodieFri

Of course, trains take a hell of a lot of time comparedto flights and with air
travel getting cheaper day by day,the time has come when the ACfirst class
tickets of trains cost more than flight tickets. In fact, for long-distance
trains, even AC II Tier fare costs more than the flight faresin economy class.
There are two reasons behind this that I can think of.

Firstly, trains connect all the cities of India, remotetowns as well. Let’s say
you want to travel from a city in Haryana to a city inWest Bengal. You would
need to take a bus or train from your city to Chandigarhor New Delhi. Then
catch a flight to Kolkata and again arrange for a bus fromKolkata to your
destination city. It takes up a lot of time when you have tobreak your journey.
Trains are convenient since you can directly board yourbrain at your source
city and get down at your destination and relax the restof the time.

Many people have a fear of flights too. When I wasgoing to Siliguri last month
on a train, I met a family across the aisle whowas scared of travelling. So
they were spending almost the same fare as of theflight but to travel on a
train. A flight from Kolkata to Agartala takes 1 hourand 30 minutes but it
takes 37 hours on the train but they were okay with that since they are scared
ofcatching a flight.

There is anotherreason behind it and I experienced this on the last train
journey that I tookafter 7 long years. You see, if you can afford the train
fare of AC first classor Second Tier, you can very well afford the flight
tickets. The flight ticketsare either almost in the same range or cheaper. But
a train journey is an experience, not just a journey.Flights are luxurious but
boring except for the portion when you take off orland; that too the experience
is enjoyed by the ones sitting beside thewindows. The rest of the time, you
travel in a pressurised metal tube, waitingto land, getting bored, no matter
what music you listen to, what movies youplay on your phone.

On a train, it is different. You get to see the outsidescenery, you interact
with many people as they getdown and board at different compartments, it is a
melting pot of all culturesof people coming from many places. AC First Class
gives you a taste of luxuryand you cannot get that in the economy class of a
flight. If your luck is good, you get a private coupe. You are served meals four
times a day, you have aprivate attendant assigned who is ready to assist you
with anything that youneed help for and the view outside is beautiful as the
train takes you throughthe countryside. You getto see the sunrise as well as
the sunset, the golden yellow farmlands, these journeys cannot be described in
words unless you experience it yourself.

That is why, manypeople prefer taking a First Class ticket, even though it is
expensive andtakes more time while travelling. At times, for a change, it is a
fun.

My note-Though I have travelled many times in aeroplane, after reading more on
aeroplane,I have fear. But for long distance andemergency,I travel by flight
praying Kuladeivan and Lord Ganesha for a happyjourney.

Q12              Whatfacts about Switzerland do foreigners not believe until
they come toSwitzerland?

A12        Anar Suleymanov travelled to over 30countries in Europe, Asia and
MENA Fri

I lived inSwitzerland for one year. As a foreigner I can tell:

Do not flush toilet after 10 PM in Geneva. Keep it fortomorrow. Otherwise
police will knock your door after 15–20 minutes.

You do not need a car in Geneva, it can be additionalburden. Public
transportation is well organized.

If you do not offer your place to elders on publictransportations you will be
fined.

Although tap waterin Switzerland is safe to drink still many people buy large
bottled waters frommarkets for daily usage at home.

It is very green. Unlike many other countriesthey keep parks as natural as
possible (without pavements).

I knew a British man with a master's degree inengineering from one of UK's top
universities who worked as abartender in Geneva. He said that he could not find
such well-paid job in theUK. Do you want to guess his salary?

Although Geneva isvery safe city almost every month, I heard the news that a
teenager had died ina tram accident.

About toilet flush that worries many.

It is has nothappened to me personally but I knew people who had been
complaining about it.It is not the law but rules set up by landlords. You will
not be arrested or fined by police, you willjust be warned. For some people it
is a myth and for some it is reality.
