FILTERING SIFTING SCREENING

ghōḷaṇa (घोळण).—. v.) Sifting or winnowing. 2 Quantity taken at one
time into the sieve or fan. Filtering, sifting, winnowing, sieving is all
Golana in Samskritham. Tirukkural places it simply as “ Kasadara”. Kasadu
is unwanted elements; and bereft of the kasadu is learning the lessons
without any blemish. Is that enough? No, after learning the lessons,
leaving the unwanted, one fulfils the learning process; then, he has to
sift; sifting according to the requirements; each thinks according to the
“possession”, and according to the level of thinking; holding of water
determines the name of the holder as a Pond or a sea. So too human levels.
THEN FILTERING IS INCOMPLETE WHEN THE VARIATION IN LEVEL DOES EXIST.

Jiddu Krishnamurthy said in one lecture.” All thinking is
conditioned. "You seem to imply that only when thought ceases is there a
radical change. But is this so?" Thought is conditioned. The mind, being
the storehouse of experiences, memories, from which thought arises, is
itself conditioned; and any movement of the mind, in any direction,
produces its own limited results. When the mind makes an effort to
transform itself, it merely builds another pattern, different perhaps, but
still a pattern. Every effort of the mind to free itself is the continuance
of thought; it may be at a higher level, but it is still within its own
circle, the circle of thought, of time. Any movement of any kind on the
part of the mind only gives strength to the continuance of thought, with
its envious, ambitious, acquisitive pursuits. This state is not to be
described; he who describes it is not aware of it. Whether I have
understood or not will show in my daily life."

Birthrhari says,” The moderate man’s virtue is called dullness; the
man who lives by rigid vows is considered arrogant; the pure minded is
deceitful; the hero is called unmerciful; the sage is contemptuous; the
polite man is branded as servile, the noble man is proud; the eloquent man
is called a chatterer; freedom from passion is said to be feebleness. These
are the ways in which evil-minded people describe good virtues.” Now where
is the standard of sifting people gone? So, filtering and sifting are
convenient tool of self-serving objects; according to the need , the
sifting goes; a thief would sift the good and take only another thief; all
in the perception and so conditional thinking process as JK said.
