BEING  A COMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            Is cauliflower a green leafy vegetable?

A1            Lucia Garcia Worked atHospitals14h

Cauliflower belongs to the species Brassica oleracea, Brassicas containsmany
common vegetables, such as broccoli, kale, cabbage and so on.

Most cauliflowers are white, butthere are also orange, green, yellow, and
purple varieties of cauliflower.

Eating cauliflower can replenishvarious nutrients the body needs.

Cauliflower is rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamin A,
carrots, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin P, vitamin U, andminerals
such as calcium, phosphorus, and iron.

The carotene content of cauliflower is 7.5 times that of Chinese cabbage, the
content of vitamin B2 is 1.8 times that of Chinese cabbage, and the
calciumcontent is comparable to that of milk.

Medical research shows that cauliflower is one of the vegetables with themost
flavonoids.

Flavonoids have anti-cancereffects. Long-termconsumption of broccoli can reduce
the risk of breast cancer, rectal cancer andgastric cancer.

Flavonoids can preventinfection and are the best blood vessel clearing agent.
Flavonoids can also prevent cholesterol oxidation, inhibit platelet clotting,
and reduce the risk of cardiovascular andcerebrovascular diseases.

Q2            Does any parent ever think about before becoming a parentthat
maybe their kid's life will be worse than their life was?

A2            GopalkrishnaVishwanath Lived 69 years so far. No regrets. Look
forward to the best yearsnow. Thu

Not me.

I was confident my children would be better off in life than I was andthey in
fact are.

I was much better off than myparents. My parents were better off than my
grandparents were.

Two primary reasons: Technological, medical, andsocial progress. More income
and fewer children.

Availability of power, water, transport, medicines, medical services, andother
conveniences like radio, TV, video, telephone, and internet and freeaccess to
information will come under Technological and medical progress.

Giving up some customs, like child marriages, bans on widow
remarriages, education for girls, treatment of girls on par with boys, fewer
cases of dowries, acceptance of inter caste, inter-religious marriages, and love
marriages, better educational opportunities, and legal reforms, can be included
undersocial progress.

We are all economically betteroff than the previous generation. Both husband
and wife earn these days unlike in the previous generationwhere wives stayed at
home. Fewer children are being born today.

My mother was one among five siblings and my father was one among four.My
father-in-law was one among six, my mother-in-law was one among nine.

I was one among three and my wife was one among four.

I have two children. My daughter has just one son. My son is as yetunmarried.
In my family, we all worked to give a better quality of life to thenext
generation and we have been successful.

Q3            Does soda (coca cola) actually "dehydrate" you?Despite being
unhealthy, can it still hydrate you like water would?

A3            Steven Haddock Studiedat York University (Canada)Tue

It’s a myth that colas and other sugary sodas will“dehydrate” you even though
they contain a pinch of salt and a lot of sugar. They’re still 99% water.

In fact, recent studies have shown that sugary sodas are actually betterfor
rehydration if you’re very thirsty because they do contain electrolytesthat
assist the digestive system into absorbing the water in them.

Water is still the best choice for hydration, but if you’ve beenphysically
active it’s not. If you’re severely dehydrated, as from food poisoning, it’s
one of theworst choices. You should go with Pedialyte or something similar
because thoseelectrolytes are important to keep you healthy when you’re
dehydrated. There’s a reason why athletes use Gatorade - it helps keep their
energyreserves up when they’ve been using their muscles a lot.

Q5            In a bank, if I keep 10 crores of a fixed deposit, howmuch will I
get per month?

A5            Prasanna Bhalerao M.Sc. in Electronics & Physics, Fergusson
College, Pune7h

A bank fixed deposit pays interest on maturity. So you won't get anything
permonth directly because monthly payout didn't exist. But you cancalculate the
total interest arranged monthly on your ₹10crore by dividing the total interest
paid out by the tenure months. Currentinterest rates as of 31-Dec-2021 hover
around 5% in most banks (actually it is4.9% in major banks and higher if
deposit is kept for 2 years or more).Corporative banks and some private sector
banks may pay more interest.

My note- Many pensioners desire quarterly interestif their deposits are for
larger amounts ,from thebanks

Q6            Is an MBBS doctor legal for performing hair transplants?

A6            Mrs Lili Basu Biswas Educatingpeople about the real root causes
of issues. Dec 20

As per I know , a MBBS doctorhas all legal rights to treat a patient under his
capabilities and knowledge. But in case of any misfortunes, hecannot defend
himself. He would be ac accountable for medical negligence.

If a person has licensed gun but it does not means he would give threatwith it
or fire anywhere but putting public life under threat .

Similar a MBBS doctor haslicense to treat patients but it does not means he has
rights to treat apatient which is not under his capabilities.

Q7            There are Hindu rituals that involve the peepal tree butif there
are no peepal trees where someone lives, what are the alternatives?

A7            Devala Rees Mon

Those rituals are all optional. If there are no peepal trees where someone
lives, they can simply notperform those specific rituals, or travel to do so.

If one really wants to worship the holy peepal tree but doesn’t have anyaround,
one could also invoke the Aswattha Deva, thespirit of the peepal tree, into
some other plant, ideally some other species officus, and do the ritual that
way. This is similar to how Hindu rituals sometimes invoke the spirits of holy
rivers into anywater to worship them, even if the water was not physically
drawn fromthose rivers. It’s an unideal alternative - the real thing is better
- but itmay do in a pinch.

Q8            What is the difference between Studying Smarter and
StudyingHarder?

A8            BYJU'S The LearningAppUpdated Dec 1

We are sure you have that one classmate who puts in the least number ofhours
into studying yet scores the highest marks. Fascinating right? On theother
hand, we’ve observed many students become concerned about how they don’tscore
well enough in exams despite having long study hours. This is where itbecomes
important to understand the difference between ‘studying smart’ and‘studying
hard’.

Here are 5 tips from our very ownmentors and learning expertson studying smart
and making studies a stress-free affair!

Tip #1 | Studying for 45 minutesat a time

Do not spend too much time studying. An average student can study forabout 45
minutes without being distracted or tired. So make the most of these45-minute
windows to cover important topics. You could study for another 45minutes after
taking a short break. The idea to maximise how much and how wellyou learn
without focussing on how long you learn

Tip #2 | Prioritise understandingconcepts before trying to remember them

Do not mug up concepts and formulas without understanding the logicbehind them.
Students usually prioritise trying to commit everything to memory. This is when
you would have heard your peers say -- ‘I spent so much timestudying but I
can't remember anything’. When you understand concepts and learnhow to apply
them, you tend to remember them for a very long time. This willsave a lot of
revision time too.

Tip #3 | Become a teacher

Start learning your syllabus with the intention of teaching it to yourpeers and
to help them understand concepts better. Studying with your peerswill help you
reinforce what you’ve learnt and put your own knowledge to thetest. It will
also help make your study schedule more exciting

Tip #4 | Test to become the best

An important part of ‘studying smart’ involves testing. Go through oldquestions
papers and get your friends to quiz you to make sure you have astrong grasp
over topics. With this you will be able to get a clear picture ofwhat your
strengths and weaknesses are and the topics that you should bespending more
time on.

Tip #5 | Master the art oflearning

There are several tricks available out there to learn better. You coulduse mind
maps, flow charts, flash cards, mnemonic devices, etc to break downcomplex
topics into simpler parts. It is also important to stay relaxed andcalm because
a tired and distracted mind needs to work harder and longer toabsorb new
information. So do try getting a good night’s sleep and meditatingto learn
better.

If you found these tips helpful, do share them with your friends! All thebest

Q10         Is it true that Saudi Arabia imports sands from Australia? If so,
why?

A10          Piotr Marciniak Workedat Armies (non-specific) (2013–2015) Mon

Yes, its true. The reasoningbehind that is Contraction business. When you want
to build a building you need concrete. However to use concreteyou need as well
as water and sand.

But not every kind of sand isthe same. Saudi Arabia importsan “beach” sand. The
type of sand that had been created by water flows. It havea different build
than desert sand, which is useless for construction.

The erosion made by water makessand grains more “edgy"while wind erosion
(desert) makes grains smooth. Therefore desert sand will notconnect with other
items, like concrete at all, or not like “beach" sand.
