A1 Bhakta KanakaDas who was aborn in a shephardcommunity was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna and he was admired by Hisholiness VYSARAYA of udipi mutt. Someof the deciples of Mutt were very unhappy about this. Once it happend that onceEkaadashi came folowed by Adhika Ekadashi. GuruVyasaraya called all the deciples and gave them one BANANA each and told them as there is an adhika ekaadashiit may not be possible to observe fast for so long. They can eat the BANANA. But thecondition was that no body should seeit. After theekaadashi passed, Guru VYASARAYA called all deciples and asked one by how how they are the BANANA. Iate in a dark room.I went to theroof top and ate.I ate it in the bathroom.I covered by self in ablanket and ate it... so on so forth came the answers. Lastly camethe chance of KANAKA DAS. When asked what he did with BANANA Kanaka das said" Achaarya, I could not find a placewhere nobody see us. God iseverywhere.. and he will be always observing our deeds. So I have brought the BANANA back." He placedthe BANANA in front of guru VYASARAYA..Now all the deciples hung their head in shame and realised why Guru showered so much love and affection on Q2 Whhat is the legend behind Panchamukhahanuman? A2 LordHanuman assumed this form to kill Mahiravana, a powerful rakshasa black-magician and practitioner of the dark arts during theRamayana war. Mahiravana hadtaken Lord Rama and Lakshmana captive, and the only way to kill him was to extinguish five lamps burning in different directions, all at the same instant. Hanuman assumed His Panchamukha formand accomplished the task, thus killing the rakshasa andfreeing Rama and Lakshmana. The fivefaces of Panchamukha Hanuman are those of Sri Hayagriva, Sri Narasimha Sri Garuda, Sri Varaha and Hanuman Himself Q3 Do serpent worship isfollowed in most part of the world? When did it started? A3 "The worship of the Serpent, next to the adoration of thePhallus, is one of the most remarkable, and at first sight, unaccountable formsof religion the world has ever known. Until the true source from whence it sprang can be reached andunderstood, its nature will remain as mysterious as its universality, for whatman could see in an object so repulsive and forbidding in its habits as thisreptile to render worship to, is one of the most difficult problems to find asolution to. There is hardly a country of theancient world, however, where it cannot be traced pervading every known systemof mythology" Q4 Do the worlds areruled by Vishnu coupling with feminine aspects? What is Jivatma and paramatma? A4 yes .Lord Vishnu, coupledwith Shri Shakti rules over the three worlds. Coupled with Bhoo Shakti, He is Brahma causing the Universe. Coupledwith Neel Shakti, He is Shiva, destroying the Universe. All beings contain both Jivatma and Paramatmamshas. Some have predominance of the former, while yet some have the latter inpredominance. Paramatmamshis predominant in the grahas, viz. Surya, etc., and Brahma, Shiva and others. Their powers or consorts too have predominance of Paramatmamsh. Othershave more of Jivatmamsh. Thefour incarnations, viz. Ram, Krishn, Narasimh, and Varah are wholly withParamatmamsh. The other incarnations (than these, out of the ten)have in them Jivamsh too. Q5 What are the details pertaing to origin told to Maitreya by sage parasara? A5 The Unborn lord has many incarnations. He has incarnated as the Nine Grahas (Nava Grahas)to bestow on the living beings the results due to their Karmas. He is Janardan. He assumed the auspicious formof grahas to destroy the demons (evil forces) and sustain the divine beings. >From Surya the incarnation ofRam, from Chandra that ofKrishna, from Mangal >that of Narasimha, from Buddh that of Buddha, from Guruthat of Vaman, from >Shukra that of Parashuram, from Shani that of Kurma(Tortoise), from Rahu that >of Varaha (pig), and from Ketu that of Meena (Fish)occurred 8-13. The beings with more Jivatmamsh are (mortal) beings. The highdegree of Paramatmamsh from the grahas, viz. Surya, etc., did incarnate asRama, Krishna, etc. After completing the mission, the Paramatmamshas (of therespective) grahas again merge (in the respective) grahas. The Jivatma portionsfrom the grahas take births as human beings, live their lives according totheir Karmas, and again merge in the grahas. In addition, at the timeof Great Destruction, the grahas as well merge in Lord Vishnu. Q6 Which period iscalled BRAHMAMUHURTA? A6 Get up at 4 a.m. daily. Gayatri Jap should be performeddaily as it is essence of all Vedas and sacred Upanishads. Sadhanaof Gayatri mantra is the essence of all Vedas. Even God like Brahma mediates onand performs Jap of Gayatri at the time of twi-light. Gayatri Jap performed daily for three years realizes God and like air, acquires the power of going where the person wants to go. Merely by offeringwater to the Sun and performing Jap of three thousand Gayatri mantra at thetime of twilight, a person becomes adorable by God. By Gayatri Sadhanathe person may get salvation, wealth, victory in battle, and freedom from disease. A man may know all the four Vedasvery well but all his labour goes waste if he does not know Gayatri mantra. Aperson who worships mantra other than Gayatri cannot get success even if hetakes millions of birth. A Brahmin who gives up Gayatri goes to hell althoughhe may worship Vishnu or Shiva. Rishis,Saints say that there is no other mantra like Gayatri mantra in all the Vedas. Ved, yagya, dan (donation, charity), tap are notequivalent even to a small fraction of Gayatri mantra. Whethera man is pure or impure, he is sitting or walking, in whatever condition a wise man may be, he should perform Gayatri Jap.A man gets rid of all sins by this Jap. Nothing is greater than GAYATRI MANTRAin this as well as other loks for the success of daily work; fulfilment ofdesires and for development of tapas. The deity worshipped in theGayatri Mantra is Savita or the Sun,hence the best day to do this ritual is Sunday Cosmic Conditioning. Ancient man was convinced thathis destiny upon earth was ruled by the divine power that placed the stars inthe heavens: that every created thing was a result of thisinfluence; and the Sun was the active principle of good and the darkness ofevil. Q12 Which are the good days for spiritualexperiences ?What are the attributes of a sadhaka? A12 Astrologically,Friday and Monday following the Full Moon day are significant for spiritualexperiences. Belief in repeating Mantras systematically andwithout any stress or strain on the brain or body is the keynotes for theefficacy of Mantras. Concentrate andMeditate without having any desires in mind. The Mantra should be recited softly so as to be audible only to beperson concerned and not to others. Mantras should be recited in a pleasingmusical tone, which will help in concentration. FOOD: The Sadhaka should have a light meal, hot and wellcooked and in small quantity, as over eating leads to the excitement of thesensory organs which aggravate passions.Onions, Garlic and Meat have stimulatingeffects on the sensory organs and will do harm to the body than good.Intoxicates and smoking of any kind should be avoided. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
