Q1            Why is India so dirty when compared to other countries?

A1            Aniruddha Tare Livesin India Tue

I live in the cleanest city of India. Which is Indore. Here are some ofthe
images from my city.

These are the roads of Indore,

This road is so clean that lunch party was organised on this road 3 yearsago,

You will see such machines cleaning dust off the roads every night. Theseare
imported from Norway.

You don't have to go anywhere to throw the garbage, Garbage collectionvehicle
comes at your doorstep to collect the garbage.

You can see workers cleaning the roads and working hard 24*7. The workerswork
in 3 shifts so there is always someone to Clean the roads.

Municipal corporation officers from all over India come to Indore tolearn waste
management and cleanliness.

Indore is the cleanest city for 5 years in a row now. Hoping for the 6thtitle

My note- India is very cleancountry comparing to manyother countries. It is
second answer to the question.

Q2            Do you prefer white rice or brown rice?

A2            Lucia Garcia Worked atHospitals Tue

Brown rice is a whole grain. Thismeans that it contains all the parts of the
grain: the bran and germ.

White rice is milled and polished to remove the bran, germ andhusk, which
prevents the ricefrom spoiling and makes it easier to store.

However, the bran and germ are the most nutritious parts of whole grains, and
they contain many nutrients, such as dietary fiber, B vitamins, folic acid, and
minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

100 grams of brown rice contains 348 calories, 7.8 grams of protein, 72grams of
carbohydrates, 3.3 grams of insoluble dietary fiber, 0.37 mg ofvitamin B1, 0.2
mg of folic acid, 9 mg of calcium, 124 mg of magnesium, 1.9 mgof iron, and 234
mg of potassium.

100 grams of white rice contains 346 calories, 7.9 grams of protein, 76grams of
carbohydrates, 0.4 grams of insoluble dietary fiber, 0.09 mg ofvitamin B1, 0.04
mg of folic acid, 5 mg of calcium, 32 mg of magnesium, 1.1 mgof iron, and 112
mg of potassium.

It can be seen from the above data that brown rice contains moreinsoluble
dietary fiber, vitamin B, folic acid, and minerals such as calcium, magnesium,
iron, and potassium than white rice.

Eating brown rice can effectivelycontrol weight and body mass index (BMI), and
is not easy to cause obesity.

In one study, researchers followed more than 75,000 women for 12 yearsand found
that women who ate brown rice weighed 15 kilograms less than womenwho ate white
rice.

In addition, brown rice contains lignans, which are natural antioxidantswith
antioxidant, anti-aging, and anti-cardiovascular and cerebrovasculareffects.

Regular consumption of brown ricecan delay the aging process ofthe body and
reduce the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Q3            WHY shouldn't the air conditioner be switched on when thewindow
is open?

A3            Gopala Krishnan ,former Assistant General Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom(1966-2004)Answered just now

As I understand with split AC always onewindow has to be partially opened and
kept so that suffocation would not occurif any problem with compressor occur
and ammonia gas leak. I amusing split AC for the last 15 years in bed room with
one window partiallyopened. Further while the AC sucks air from room, somewhat
fresh air will besucked and cooled. By partially opening a window, itwould
never reduce the cooling.

2nd answer- Tony Jose, works at Tata Consultancy Services Answered20h ago

Because it's counterproductive ,  you're turning on the airconditioner because
the air temperature outside is higher than you'd prefer, turning on the air
conditioner and then opening the window is basically justcancelling each other
out. Youmay still be able to cool down the room a bit but at many times the
power you'dneed if the window was closed.

Q4            At what point in human gestation are the ova formed?

A4            Ken Saladin Textbookauthor and professor emeritus Tue

All the eggs (ova) a female will ever have are formed before she’s evenborn. It
starts by the time she’s a 5-week-old embryo.By the time she’s 5 months, it’s
finished; she has her full lifetime supply. About 2/3 of those eggs then die
before she’s born, and 90% of the remainder die off before she reaches puberty.

Out of the 6 or 7 million eggs she has as a 5 month featus, only about 200,000
remain when she reaches theage to begin ovulation and menstruation.

Q5            How long should you keep your plastic drink bottle
beforereplacing it?

A5            Paul Smith, A. A.Mechanical Engineering Design, Montgomery
Community College (1976) Answered 10mago

I replaced all mine permanently decades ago. I prefer stainless steel. Idon't
like the taste of water in plastic bottles.

2nd answer- BohoCrystals, former FounderAnswered 3h ago

Plastic deteriorates over timeand releases chemicals into the fluids it
contains. If using a plastic bottle designed to be usedonce, only use it once.
Plastic reusable bottles vary, but I used to change mine once every 6 months
and byfluke now use a jam jar (I was in a rush to go out the door one day
andcould not find my bottle).

My suggestion is to use some kind of tough glass bottle

3rd answer-TeresaGoodell, Ph.D. Nursing &Statistics, Oregon Health & Science
University (2004)Answered Mon

Depending on the type of plastic, it will begin to break down in about1000
years. So you should be ok for now. Wash it regularly, too.

4th answer- Jamie Moore, Website Designer(2017-present)Answered Mon

I’ve been using the same Camelbak Eddy bottle for maybe 12-15 years.

Keep it out of the sun, and avoid organic solvents, as that can degradethe
plastic and yeet stuff into your water. If it'sjust for storing water, you good
for a long time to come.

Q6            Why do some UK bricks have holes?

A6            Anne Whitacre Architecturalspecifier for large projects at
Multiple Large Firms Feb 4

A lot of US bricks have holes, too. Those holes are called “cores”.

The cores do a few things: they make the brick lighter weight, for one.

The allow reinforcing bars to travelthrough multiple rows of bricks so that the
wall is tied together structurally.

And, they allow grout to extend from row to row, again, tying the walltogether.

A lot of masonry walls are multiple layers vertically (side by side);those are
called “wythes” of bricks. It is pretty common for them to be tied together
too, with reinforcingthat runs horizontally. This is a pretty simple diagram,
but you cansee where the vertical bars come up through the cores and then the
horizontal“ladders” intersect with them, especially in the first diagram.

Q7            What time do most Indian families in the US that you knoweat
dinner/supper?

A7            Aishwarya Kher A loyallover of Indian Cuisine Feb 3

I know the eating habits of very few Indian families in US. So I’mstating this
with reference to my limited knowledge of 9–10 households.

Most of them have a 3-meal diet, just like they were used to in India andhave
dinner after 7 PM.

Only difference I noticed was inthe quantity consumed per meal and kind of food
they prefer here. As in something that’s quick toprepare for breakfast and
light to have for dinner.

Some reasons being:

Most couples are working.  They’reoccupied with household chores and need to
multitask.    Elaborate Indian meals could be timeconsuming to prepare on a
regular basis

Some working Indians rely ontiffin service that deliver meals before 7 pm

Some start work very early due to different time zones in the country, and hence
are done for the day around 5–6 pm

They avoid over-eating to stay fit since healthcare is expensive andcould
involve some hassle or wait time. Immigrants can’t spend the way citizenscan,
at least initially. However, I know 2 families including my own who followa
2-meal diet.

Breakfast, normally, between 8-9AM and supper between 3–4 PM. Ithelps to
maintain a good gap for digestion between last meal of the day and bedtime. I
totally recommend that !

Q8            What is natural ventilation in buildings?

A8            RadhakrishnanSubramanian , Civi Engineering info Answered Tue

Natural ventilation means the wind and thermal buoyancy to create airmovement
in and out of your home without the use of any mechanical systems.

My note- In Kerala on those dayswhen air-conditioner was rarelyused, air
holeswere provided in the outer walls of the building. This enabled hot air
toescape from room. Cool air entered through opened windows. Still
earlierwindows had two parts. The top part  forabout 9” height, kept opened
permitted hot air to let out.

Q9            Recently, I googled the salary given in a bank which isnot even
50,000 per month to a PO or clerk. Why do people still want to get ajob in bank
despite so much hard work?

A9            Anurag Shah Works atState Bank of India (SBI)Mon

Well currently the salary of a SBI PO is around 65K gross plus allowancesof
around 10k and those who seek SCP (Smart Compensation Package) they get around
78K gross pay which is prettygood for a new entrant.

Some of the reasons why people still want to get this job:—

Now where would an unemployed person get such a salary without anyspecial
skills.

This job does not demand any degree, skill, percentage to employ a person, and
this is the reason that a huge number of candidates apply for the exam.

The exam cycle is short, within 6 months from exam , you may have a jobin hand
, unlike SSC (which takes around 3 years to finally get the job).

The salary is obviously betterthan zero in the eyes of an unemployed person.

My note- The work is very hard though routine. In most banks one can see staff
working late till about7PM to finish the works  though workinghours over by 6
PM. Many staff do not get even 5 minutes free time duringworking hours (in
Chennai, India)

Q10         My grandfather is 96 and he is hallucinating a lot. He saysthat
some men are regularly visiting him at night and sit near him. Is he inhis last
days?

A10          Irefuse to call it hallucination. It's real and tomorrow you may
alsoexperience it be prepared for that day.

All of them must experience it, but very few narrate their experience toothers.
Why?

My own father had this and I lived with that for a few years before hepassed
away in 2000. He used to shout during late nights that “Hitler has comeand
conquered our country, come on get up we will go fight”. Sometimes he used to
say “war has broken out, come on open the doors we must go”.

My father lived during first and second world War and he was a civilengineer in
British-Indian military. Therefore, past memories starts comingback during old
age.

If you read Vedanta, you willfind answers. Mind startspreparing to depart from
the present dilapidated house (read sick mortal body)so the Mind is looking for
a new house. During this transition period Mind mustget back all the past Karma
intact - fulfilled and unfulfilled - in order totake along with it the whole of
the junk stored in the godown of MIND. This is called Sanchita Karma inVedanta.

Secondly, they may not remember you as their son because suddenly theymay ask
you, who you are? Present memory fades, butpast memories unfolds creating
disturbance for the family members.

Please don't give him sleeping tablets, but try to manage him for a fewdays as
it is normal.

We don't know when they would depart, but it isdefinitely the indication that
MIND is preparing to leave the body.
