Pranam
Gopalakrishnanji is partially correct as you are also Mr
Rangarajan. Your statement is "I do not think I have educated my children.
I am only nimitta matram. I happened to have the resources which enabled
them to have the education of their choice.``. It is another quote we see
and also was used in some films also. That arose out of the Gibran poem : "
On Children Kahlil Gibran <https://poets.org/poet/kahlil-gibran> -
1883-1931 And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, Speak to us
of Children. And he said: Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They
come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet
they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your
thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their
bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of
tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may
strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life
goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from
which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees
the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s
hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He
loves also the bow that is stable.
Expectations do have disappointments. B G says that only. Buddhism is
based on that. Vedas say in short that. Vanaprastham was based on that.
Vanaprastham is the new concept of old age home. Let it be.
Now let us assume a situation that parent were drunkards, spent
their lives in clubs and sense pleasures leaving their children at home or
elsewhere unattended and speaking to them casually and lightly. If they
liked they educated them. Orelse they thought so what. Children grew day by
day as they liked. As Khallel the drunkard philosopher who had no morals,
said they followed and they thought only about that day present and
lived happily. Time passed by. 25 years have passed. All lived their life
happily and with their inabilities. The parent became aged with no money,
diseases and sufferings of all sorts; children in dozens loitered the
streets of the world as they could and grew out of all means to steal, bega
nd barrow; some on top, some in low. ( Their karma). Parents pleaded for
help and were turned down because of their past. Children faced all ordeals
with profits and problems and had a similar cycle. Were all of them
happier ? There were actions on both sides all the years. Are all these
actions karmically dharmic?. Or happy minds of khaleelic?. Every one shall
die. Life does not matter how one lives. But living means leading a life of
spectre. Simple. It is not an expectation. One worked for 40 years in the
same position. Had the bosses promoted him as per rules he would have
lived. Even now he is not dead and is living. Philosophy is a railings
parallel till end for the trains to travel.Or else there are accidents
forever. Which is good?. When denied a promotion , at that moment how a
human heart and mind will behave is momentary or long leased. Rights and
duties are not straying like animals because even the animals do have
discipline. The parent shall teach a lesson to the posterity with their
experiences; they do not bother; but they feel the posterity shall not
suffer out of karma accumulated by inaction. Action in inaction and
inaction in action is the attitude of a sthitha pragnan. Only one in one
million reach HIM B G says. So....? KR IRS 19222
