A3 Nine  idols of Lord Vishnu were  installed by a group of Rishis here.
Thefirst 8 disappeared as soon as they were installed.

The ninth onesank to its knees before it was stopped. Hence Lord Naavai

below theground.

Q4 What are the details of Guruvayur andMammiyur temple?

A4 Legend has it that on LordKrishna's Swargarohana (ascension to Vaikunta) the
idol  of Lord which was worshipped by Lord Krishnahimself was given to
Uddhavawhoin turn was to entrust it to Brihaspathi(Devaguru) for installation
in asuitable place.

Devaguru along with Vayu with thehelp of Parasurama found a suitable place
which at that time was the abode ofLord Shiva and Parvathi.

Lord Shiva agreed that this was the suitable place toinstall the idol and
agreed to move to a place called Mammiyoor which is onekilometer away.

The place is called Guruvayoorsince Guru and Vayu installed the idol.

Since Lord Shiva agreed to moveaway, to give place to Lord Krishna, the
pilgrimage to Guruvayoor is considered incompletewithout a visit to the
Mammiyoor Mahadevar temple.

It is said that Vishwakarma, thedivine architect built  Guruvayoortemple. Itis
designed in such a way that on Vishu day, the first rays of the Sun
fallstraight on to the Lord's feet

Q6 What is the legend associated withSathayabhama and deepavali?

A6 Narakasura was a monster ruledthe kingdom Pradyoshapuram. He was the trouble

To prove his power Narakasurausurped some territory of Adithi  (Theking of
suraloka and a relative of Satyabhama, Lord krishnas wife) .

Vexed with this Haressment Indraand other Gods approached lord Krishna and
pleaded with him to prevent themfrom the demon Narakasura.

Satyabhama appealed to krishna  to give her the golden chance to
destroyNarakasura, as Narakasura was given a curse that he would be killed by a
woman.

Krishna granted her a boon tofight with Narakasura, with Krishna as charioter.
Satyabhama entered thebattlefield and killed Demon Narakasura. The killing of
Narakasura was avictory of good over evil.It is interesting to note that
Bhudevi(Mother Earth), declared that his death should not be a day of mourning
but anoccasion to rejoice and celebration by people every year with
joyouscelebrations with lot of fun and frolic and fireworks.

Q7 What is the legend associated with GoddessLekshmi  and deepavali?

A7 Mother Lakshmi emerged fromthe ocean of milk, The ksheera sagara. She
brought wealth and prosperity tomankind.

On that day Lakshmi Pooja wasperformed to honour her and as such every year on
the Deepawali day Hindusperform the prayer and worship.

The making and distribution ofvarious sweets and total vegetarian foods are the
order of the day. Thispractice is alive and well followed up till today.

Q8 What is the Science underlying lighting ofa lamp in front of the basil plant
(Tulsi) in the evening?

A8 The evening time is considered to be thetime of arrival of the Lakshmi
Principle in the Vastu. Tulsiis essentially Sattvik. Principles of various
Deities are attracted to thebasil plant (Tulsi). By lighting a lamp infront of
the basil plant (Tulsi), the Purity (Sattvikta) in it is activated. This
Purity(Sattvikta) spreads in the environment present in the Vastu and purifies
it.

The frequencies of LakshmiPrinciple are attracted to the flame of the lamp kept
in front of the basilplant (Tulsi) in the purified environment and enter the
Vastu. This alsopurifies the Vastu and a protective sheath of Pure (Sattvik)
frequencies of theDeities is created around the Vastu.

At the same time, because of theAbsolute Fire (Tej-tattva) frequencies emitted
by the lamp, the Vastu and thoseresiding in it are protected from the negative
energies circulating in theenvironment.
