TEMPLE VISITS-GURUVAYOORAND MANAPPULLI KAVU
Dear friends, Recently I had been to Palghat for temple visits. Ihave already written about Tirujenttoor Bhagavathi temple, Melarcode Ganapathitemple and about Kadampuzha temple in Malappuram district. Since wecompleted our worship by about 7.30 AM. Sufficient time was there travelling toGuruvayoor temple and worship. My wife and son were very specific of worship atGuruvayoor. Long queue was posing a problem to me. I am not able to stand formore time now. As expected when we reached Guruvayoor, there was very large queueand more than 200 were standing outside shelter queue. Now benches are providedin the queue to sit. My wife approached a Guard to see any special queuefor senior citizens. He informed the time for senior citizens was over and wecan approach Devaswam officer, who may give a chit to senior citizens and withthat we can take an entrance, from which we require only about an hour in the queue. While making a way to reach Devaswam officer, we found special entrance for Rs 1000-00ticket. When we approached the Devaswam staff at that gate, he said, only twotickets to my wife and son are required, we can reach the sanctum in ten minutes. Withinminutes my son got the tickets, and we were at sanctum entrance infive minutes for worship. This arrangement of special entrance on ticket was notthere at Guruvayoor earlier. I am making a mention of it so that elders from other places andsomewhat affordable can have darsan of Lord with in maximum 15 minutes, bygetting special darsan ticket. A specialpack of prasadam was given to us on production of partly torn ticket. Our driver wonderedhow we completed darsan within half an hour. He was not aware the specialdarsan ticket of Rs 1000-00. Below that there is no darsan ticketlike in Tirupathi. After meals and rest evening we started to KalpathiViwanatha temple and Maniple kava Bhagavathi temple. It was deeparadhana timeat Viswanatha swamy temple and we reached Manappulli kavu after 7.30 PM afterdeeparadhana in the closing time. Not so crowded we had good darsan. Wearing mask was compulsory inthe temple. Manappulli kavu is kuladevatha of my daughter in law. Soafter discussion with her, my son made a good offering in temple. When my son told them about the kuladevatha of his wife, the priests collected “chanthu” from deity in abottle to him and desired his wife to wear. On the way I described to my son what is chanthu and whatis chanthattam in Devi temples and how costly isthe offering. Immediately after marriage he had worshipped with wife andoffered Tirumangalyam in the temple. About Kalpathi temple, chariot and Gurukkal priestsand other details I will cover in nextposting Gopalakrishnan 15-5-2022 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
