BEING  ACOMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1         Why are there microorganisms in naturalbodies of water?

A1          David Starling Former Retired fromLondon Metropolitan University 1y

Because that’s where they live. They are also the base of the food chain,
daphnia will feed on them and smallfish will eat the daphnia, larger fish,
dragon fly larvae and water spiderswill eat the smaller fish.

Q2         Where does well water go after it isused?

A2          John A. Whitehead Building and GroundsManager at Zoos (zoological
parks) (2011–present)1y

While not alwaysthe case, a building that has well water also has a septic
tank. The water that drains out of thesink, toilet, shower, etc goes into a
septic tank. Solids settle inthe tank where they begin to be broken down by
anaerobic bacteria. Liquids staytoward the top of the tank and flow out of the
outlet. From there the liquidsflow (or are pumped) into the drain field. The
drain field is a manifold made up of perforated pipeor tile that spreads the
water out and allows it to leach into the soil. The water slowly drains into the
soil, eventually finding its way back downinto the water table. On its way it's
being filtered by all the dirt, sand, rocks, etc. It is then pumped up into your
house to your sink, tub, and toiletand everything starts all over again. A
beautiful system, really.

So if you are on a well/septic system, next time you geta drink of cool,
refreshing water, just remember some part of it was used toflush the results of
Taco Tuesday!

Q3         What organ in anatomy is responsiblefor heat generation in an
organism?

A3          Ken Saladin, Author, Anatomy &Physiology—The Unity of Form and
FunctionTue

In a person at rest, about three-quarters of the bodyheat comes from the brain,
heart, liver, and endocrine glands, because of the high metabolic rates of those
organs. The resting musclescontribute 20% to 30%. Duringexercise, the muscles
produce up to 30 to 40 times as much heat as all the restof the body combined.

That’swhy we see so much steam rising from the bodies of these muscular race
horseson a cold day. This was a common sight in the era beforeautomobiles, when
the streets of large cities were full of horse-drawn wagonsdelivering ice,
coal, and food even on the coldest winter days.

Q4         Has anyone found a clever way toencourage an elderly person with no
appetite to enjoy food again?

A4          Alice Twain, Eating and cooking for 40years. Jun 26

Two things happen to very old people.

They losemuch of their sense of taste and smell. It’s a naturalprocess, as
people get very old all senses weaken. Andthis makes food less attractive.

Theirmetabolism drops. They become less active (some arebedbound), their living
processes become slower, and their muscles weaken. So they need much less food.

Losing the appetiteis one of the unpleasant things about getting old, and the
main way to avoidthis is dying young. Feedyour elderly what they like (usually
sweets are a favorite) and resign to thefact that people get old and lose
appetite. Just make sure theystill eat enough proteins fruits and vegetables.
(Hint stewed fruits tend toalso be a favorite: just dice the peeled seasonal
fruit, and stew it with amodest amount of sugar and either white wine or some
spices.)

Q5         What are some of the best train hacksfor India?

A5          Shaunak Bhattacharjeee, Lives inKolkata, West Bengal, India
(1996–present)Jun 25

1. While purchasinga bottle of water on the train or at the railway station,
always check thebrand of the bottle. Many fake brands disguise themselves as a
well-establishedbrand by copying their design and the name and in a hurry, you
might end upbuying a bottle of “Bilseri" instead of a Bilseri and you don't
know whatthey are packing in the name of mineral water.

My note- In all railway stations ROS water is available, either filled in
bottles or it can be filled in our vessels. This water pricedless by railway is
really good.

2. Always book yourtrain tickets in advance even if you have contacts at the
railway department. The earlier you plan your trip and book the train ticket,
the more chances areto get a confirmed ticket or at least get a RAC ticket that
has a higher chanceof confirmation. If you book at the last moment and get a
Waiting List ticketthat's quite behind, you will always be thinking about
whether the ticket willget confirmed.

3. Never buy foodfrom the train vendors because they maintain the lowest
hygiene standards andyou wouldn't want to fall sick on a train or while you're
vacationing. It isbest to order online through third-party food catering apps
that have a tie-upwith IRCTC like Rail Restro. They would serve hot meals right
at your seat.Otherwise, the meals that IRCTC themselves provide are not edible
either.

My note- One should not say all pantry staff are not hygienic. Most wear gloves,
comes in neat dress. I have eaten with taste recentlystation prepared and
loaded snacks which I fould very tasty

4. Carry aninflatable pillow with you if it is an overnight journey. Do not
rely on thepower outlet either. Alwayscarry a power bank with you that you can
use to charge your phone so that youcan keep in touch with your family who's
worrying about you back home.

5. If you aretravelling in an AC compartment, chances are that the AC can get
very chilly, especially during the night time. Try to carry a jacket or a
sweater that can come in handy if you feelcold. Not always can you expect the
passengers to co-operate for theinconvenience of one or two people and switch
off the fan.

Q6         How early should we reach the Tirupatitemple?

A6          Bhuvana Rameshwar,Lives in Chennai/Ooty/Bengaluru
(1979–present)Updated 6h

Thirupathi -Thirumala Lord Balaji (Venketeshwara) temple is not like any of our
ordinarytemples wherein if you go early you are the first in the queue or there
is noqueue at all. It is a very busy temple. Lord Balaji literally works
overtime to see his devotees! Here “Any time and every time” is queue time.
There are ticketed queues andfree darshan queues.

Thirupathi is thetown where we alight from train or bus or car. I think.
Thirupathi has anairport too. Most hotels for stay and freshening up and
restaurants are downhere.

Thirumala is the uphill place where the holy Balaji temple is found. Government
buses ply to andfro Thirumala - Thirupathi. Private Cars and vans also are
allowed. There aresecurity checking booths for people and belongings just like
airports at thehill entrance.

Here too we can getthe temple board ‘s accommodation and food. Rooms are to be
booked onlinemonths ahead. Rooms, cottages are at a nominal price. Car park is
charged.

But free stay, transport inside the temple campus, food, bathing, washrooms,
head tonsuring are all there.

If you book darshantickets online say the Rs 50 or other higher ones like Rs
300 and Rs 1000 ( fortwo), your time slot is already given. I think the Rs 50
tickets are not givennowadays.

So as per the timeslot given enter around that time or before. Sometimes if
there is no crowd thetemple authorities let us in earlier too. Take an ID proof
like aadhar, passport withyour tickets etc. Take printouts of the tickets as
cell phones are not allowedinside the temple. You cannot show the ticket on
your phone. Leave phoneslocked safe in the room or car.

Dress code is to befollowed. Only dhothisand shirts for men and sarees, salwar
kameez for women. No jeans, t-shirt,shorts please.

If you want to gointo the free queue, as you enter you are given an approximate
time of darshan.Depending on the crowd it is 6 hrs to 24 hrs. Generally queues
are less crowded on Tuesdays and newmoon days.

Besides if you arein the queue around 1pm to 2pm your queue may be stopped
abruptly to let thesenior citizen queue and differently abled brethren lines
inside for darshan.

There arewashrooms, drinking water, eats throughout your movement in queues.
But beready to be caged in locked rooms with chairs and impatient people as the
queuemoves from one room to another. And the winding stairs from one building
toanother towards the main temple. Best is the cool water- flowing door mat
atthe main temple entrance which removes all the tiredness of the long queue.

Once we went in the Rs 350 ticket queue on Dec 25th andgot darshan and came out
on 26th next day . It wasbecause of too many devotees because of ‘Christmas’
public holiday and schoolhalf yearly holidays.

Have a good trip toThirupathi and good darshan in Thirumala temple. And do not
forget to visitgodesss Padmavathi ‘s ( lordBalaji's consort) temple,
Thiruchanur, in Thirupathi

Q7         Is miracle fruit good for diabetics?

A7          Lucia Garcia Worked at HospitalsJun 26

Miracle fruit( SIMILAR TO SAPPOTTA) is atropical plant native to Ghana, Nigeria
and Congo in West Africa. Its fruit isbright red, oval in shape and about 2 to
2.5 cm long, and weighs about 1 to 1.2grams.

The seeds of the miracle fruit are surrounded by fleshypulp and taste like
bland cranberry.

For thousands ofyears, in traditional African medicine, miracle fruit has been
used to treat various ailments such asdiabetes, male infertility, gout, cancer
and so on.

In recent years, miracle fruit has gained worldwide popularity for its potential
medicinalproperties.

Laboratory andanimal studies have shown that miracle fruit fruit can
effectively boostinsulin secretion, improve insulin sensitivity, and lower
blood sugar levels.

Interestingly,Miracle Fruit contains Miraculin, a special protein that
temporarily makes thetongue register sour tastes as sweet tastes.

Therefore, aftereating the miracle fruit, anything sour will taste sweet, such
as lemons, apricots, plums, bayberry, etc., usually, this will last for 30
minutes

Q8         What are the most mysterious thingsabout Indian temple?

A8          Vineel Chandra visited a vast numberof temples in South IndiaWed

PanchavarnaSwamy Temple, Woraiyur, Tamil Nadu

It looks like anordinary temple from the outside built in the last century, but
it is actuallyat least 2000 years old. What's fascinating is the design of this
temple. It isdesigned so that normal visitors see regular carvings, and if you
are a seriousresearcher or a history geek, some carvings are baffling, and they
are allcarved in the dark corners of the temple.

Today, even though the temple has electric lights, thestrangest carvings still
lurk in deep, dark areas, and these carvings have no explanation until now. In
other words, we aretalking about one of the most mysterious temples in India!

Let's take a lookat the picture below:

As we see, this carving has the head of an elephantstanding upright. You may
think this is the famous Hindu God Ganesha, but it isnot because this is a
female figure and Ganesha is a male God.

What is moreinteresting is that ithas wings like an eagle; you can even see the
feathers. Now, look atthe legs; these are long, slender cylindrical feet that
defy any explanation. What could this possibly be? Even today, scientists have
not been able tocreate such a species through genetic engineering; we do not
have enoughtechnology to do this today. But 100 years from now, we could easily
make a species like an elephantwith wings. Believe it or not, scientists are
said to be secretlyworking even to create human beings with wings. It is
estimated that this willbe achieved in less than 200 years from now. In other
words, this carving seemsto show developments in the future!

Here is another carving from Panchavarna Swamy temple. While the previous
carving shows the future, this oneportrays something from a distant past. The
animal you see here is a type of Saber-toothed cat, sometimes even known as the
Saber-toothed tiger. This particularspecies is called Thylacosmilus. The
Thylacosmilus looks like a modern-day lionor tiger, but its exceptionally long
upper canine teeth are the maindifference. This carving shows this particular
species with protrudingfang-like teeth and a long tail.

All experts believe that species became extinct 2.5 millionyears ago.
Historians and archaeologists tell us thatthis temple was built about 2000
years ago. In order forsculptors to carve such an animal, they must have seen
the Thylacosmilus. So how did sculptors accurately carve this animal 2000 years
ago even thoughthe species became extinct 2.5 million years ago?

Think aboutthis: How can a temple contain both futuristic carvings and carvings
from adistant past?

The only waysomeone could accurately record something from both the future and
past is bydoing time travel. Were ancient builders in India capable of Time
travel? Isthere more evidence of Time travel in Hinduism? What is more
remarkable is thatthe ancient text called Bhagavata Purana describes Time
travel and the conceptof Time dilation accurately. I want to urge my readers to
go through the famousBhagavata Purana & Vedas to learn that physical science
has existed inIndia for a long time!

Have a look at thepicture above. This temple even has a carving ofBrahma on his
planet. It looks completely exotic; it doesn'tresemble the earth at all. Brahma
looks humanoid but has a strange, long beardand dreadlocks hairdo coming down
to his waist. The treeshown on this planet doesn't look like a regular tree,
this looks more like ahuman brain, and the trunk resembles the brain stem. This
carvingsomehow seems to signify consciousness or spirituality.

What is this treeconnected to? A mysterious lingam is often explained as a
source of unlimitedpower. Perhaps, Brahma is tapping into the bigger power
source and taking somecontrol of his portable device.

Why did ancientbuilders design this temple so that all these strange carvings
are located indark areas where regular visitors do not see them? The more we
look, thestranger the carvings get.

This carving of a bicycle is also from the same temple.Unbelievable, isn't it?
This also shows futureadvancement! These carvings are not visible to normal
visitors, but were theyleft as clues to be seen by researchers and scientists?
Let me ask the samequestion again: Were ancient builders capable of time
travel? Is this why wesee carvings of the distant past and future? How else
could they carvegenetically engineered hybrids as well as extinct animals?

Perhaps the key toall the questions I have put forth here can be found on the
temple's ceiling(see the picture above). Usually, the roof of temples contains
complex cymaticpatterns, but when we look at the ceiling of this temple, there
is somethingout of the ordinary. There is not much light in this area. I feel
that thistemple's time travel mystery can be solved by exploring the ceiling
area.

I hope you enjoyedreading my answer. Thanks for your time.

Q9         What is a simple economic way to cleanwater?

A9          Gopala Krishnan,Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

IT depends on thewater. Normally well water is used for drinking in Kerala and
no cleaning isrequired. Certain dry river water is too good and require no
cleaning. Eg:-Palar river water in Tamilnadu. In rainy season water can be
filtered using aclean cloth to remove impurities

ROS system is forthe last 2 decades or so with people who live in areas where
water is impure.

Q10              Why do some elderly get out and gofor walks while others just
want to hide in their homes?

A10        A lot of elderly people have arthritis so going for walkscauses them
pain. Many are just tired: any kind of expedition outrequires 2 or 3 days in
bed to recover, so they don’t go out unless it’s reallyworth the recovery
period. I’mfinding the same applies to Long COVID.
