Once a human being could climb trees, mountains, swim in every water body, traverse long distances, all of which, made him/her, smell, sense, perceive, understand, act, interact, cooperate, coordinate and harmonize all these activities automatically and reflexively into the internal hormonal communication. Every cell participated in this perception, the two way perception-inhaling messages and exhaling responses which received responses from nature, an extension of one’s hormonal communication system into the troposphere. Perception was not mere noting then. Every organism communicated with every other organism, from the basic cellular level, making the planet earth into the Goddess Gaia. Perception then was not isolated learning, but the basic macro phenomenon, the basic feature of Gaia, the big organism, in which every organism lives and contributes to the living of Gaia. Gaia was organic and not mechanical, the inanimate planet.Today, she is sick. We are living in sick Gaia, making her more sick, with our technological advancement. We no longer perceive. We just speculate, guess and toil with definition clutches. Science and Technology are making nature itself redundant, creating the ‘Age of Robots’. Perception, which once was part of the macro perception of Gaia, died. Technology is creating the extinction of the Biosphere.We urgently need ‘Institutes of Macro Perception’.
