Dear friends,

These are informationcompiled as QA by me in 1998’s-2014’s and stored in my
computer. They areposted by very  learnt doctors inkidshealth.org etc.

Many improvements have come in medical field. Hence some information may have
additions or some times changes.

These are for general information, and for  anyhealth  problem one has to
consult doctor.

BEING COMPILATION THERE MAY BE  ERRORS.

Q1 Is it goofto maintain a clean-plate policy to children?
A1Don't maintain a clean-plate policy. If kids aresatisfied, don't force them
to continue eating. Reinforce the idea that they shouldonly eat when they're
hungry.

Q2 What is lyme disease and what are all its details?

A2 You've probably heard of Lyme disease. It's often associatedwith heavily
wooded or grassy areas where deer live.

Lyme disease is an infection caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. This
bacterium is usually found in animals like mice and deer. It can be carriedto
people from these animals by Ixodesticks (known as black-legged or deer ticks).
These ticks pick up Borrelia burgdorferiwhen they bite infected animals and
then infect humans by biting them andpassing the bacteria into the person's
bloodstream.

It's very hard to see the ticks themselves. Immature ticks, ornymphs, are about
the size of a poppy seed. Adult ticks are about the size of asesame seed.

Many people who get Lyme disease don't remember beingbitten. The good news is
thatmost tick bites don't result in Lyme disease.

Lyme disease can affect differentbody systems, such as the nervous system,
joints, skin, and heart.

The symptoms of Lyme disease areoften described as happening in three stages
Usually, the first sign of infection is acircular rash. This rash appears
within 1–2 weeks of infection but may develop up to30 days after the tick bite.

The rash often has a characteristic"bull's-eye" appearance, with a central red
spot surrounded by clear skin Itmay be warm to the touch and is usually not
painful or itchy Along with therash, a person may experience flu-like symptoms
such as swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, headache, and muscle aches.

Lyme disease can affect the heart, leading to an irregular heart rhythm or chest
pain. It can spread to thenervous system, causing facial paralysis (Bell's
palsy) or tingling andnumbness in the arms and legs .Lyme disease is usually
treated with a 2- to 3-weekcourse of antibiotics.

Cases of Lyme disease thatare diagnosed quickly and treated with antibiotics
almost always have agood outcome

Lyme disease is not contagious, so you can'tcatch it from another person. But
you can get it more than once from ticks thatlive on deer, in the woods, or
travel on your pets

First, don'tpanic. Your risk of developing Lyme disease after being bitten by a
tick isonly about 1% to 3%.
On top of that, it takes at least 24to 48 hours for the tick to transmit the
bacteria that causes Lyme disease.

Q3 What are the brief details ofcancer cells in every body’s body?

A3 Everyperson has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do   not show
up in the standard tests until theyhave multiplied to a  few billion.

When doctors tell cancerpatients that there are no    more cancercells in
their bodies after treatment, it just means the    tests are unable to detect
the cancer cells because they have not   reachedthe detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occurbetween 6 to more than 10 times in a person's   lifetime.

3. When the person's immunesystem is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed
and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.
4. When a person has cancer itindicates the person has multiple   nutritional
deficiencies. These could be due togenetic, environmental, food and lifestyle
factors.

Q4 What are the + and – points ofChemo therapy?

A4 Chemotherapy involvespoisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells   and also
destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bonemarrow,    gastro-intestinal
tract etc,and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

Radiation while destroyingcancer cells also burns, scars and  damages healthy
cells, tissues and organs.

Initial treatment withchemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size.
Howeverprolonged use of chemotherapy and  radiation do not result in more tumor
destruction.
Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancercells to mutate and    become
moredangerous.

Q5 Which is the best way to battlecancer?

A5  An effective way to battle cancer is tostarve the cancer cells   by not
feedingit with the foods it needs to multiply.

Sugar is acancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food
supply to the cancer cells.

Sugar substituteslike NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame
and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or
molasses but only in very small amounts

Milkcauses the body to produce mucus, especially in the  gastro-intestinal
tract. Cancer feeds onmucus.

Bycutting off milk   and substituting withunsweetened soy milk, cancer cells
are being    starved Cancer cells thrive in an acidenvironment. A meat-based
diet is   acidic and it is best to eat fish
Avoid coffee, tea, andchocolate, which have high caffeine. Green   tea is a
better alternative and hascancer-fighting properties.

Q6 What are the effects of UV rays passingthrough the skin?

A6 Some ultraviolet rays passthrough air and clouds and penetrate the skin.
When your skin's been exposed to too manyof these rays, you get what's known as
a sunburn
Melanin is a chemical in the skinthat protects the skin from sun damage by
reflecting and absorbing UV rays. People with darkerskin have more melanin, but
even if you have dark hair, dark eyes, ordarker-toned skin, you can still get a
sunburn

Q7 Can we take more water and water evenwhile when we are not feeling thirsty
in hot sun?

A7 Drink Up! Drinking water is an importantpart of staying healthy, especially
when it's hot outside. When you're sweating, you lose water that your body
needs to work properly.

And if you're playing a sport orrunning around in the sun, you lose even more
water, because you sweat thatmuch more. So drink up and don'twait until you're
thirsty - drinking before you feel thirsty helps keep thewater level in your
body from dropping too low when it's hot or you're sweatinga lot with exercise

Q8 What is heat exhaustion  and sun stroke?

A8 If you're out in the hot sun,or you're exercising on a hot day, it's easy to
get *heat exhaustion*.  Kids get heat exhaustion when their bodies can't
coolthemselves fast enough.

A kid with heat exhaustion mightfeel overheated, tired, and weak. Heat
exhaustion can come on suddenly.

A person may just collapse when playing socceror tennis, for example. It can
leave a person feeling really tired for daysafter it happens.

Heat stroke is a more serious heat-relatedillness and can cause a person to
stop sweating, to have red, hot skin, and tohave a high temperature.

The person might become uncoordinated, confused, or even lose consciousness. It
requires emergency medical attention
